I like that this is a sort of follow up to the previous "Timeless" story, and that Heinrad is making good on his promise to help Thrustinator once they get this business over with.
With Packrat here being an anomaly that doesn't belong in this post-Beast Wars setting, I gotta wonder if the other four crooks are likewise anomalies as well. I originally just took them to being ordinary dudes who wound up in Axiom Nexus like any ol' Offworlder, but with Packrat introducing the "anomaly" thing in this, it has me curious.

Well if you think about it, for oilmaster it'd play off the fact he was never released, like there's only one of him or something. But for Megatron let me propose an analogy.
Spoilers for a game it's your own fault for not playing for years ago now. Okay so at the end of bioshock infinite; the protagonist Booker DeWitt learns that the antagonist, Zachary Hale, Comstock is infact himself from an alternative timeline that split into multiple after one decision. This decision was to be "born again" in baptism to wash away all the horrible things he'd done. If he went through with it, he'd become the zealous American Exceptionalist Comstock. If he backed out booker would remain the same. Long story somewhat shorter, Elizabeth, Booker's companion and daughter decide to set things right that once went wrong because despite the fact they succeeded, there are still infinite others that died or failed horrifically. To solve this Elizabeth drowns booker as he goes through the baptism to circumvent Comstock, and related timelines from being created, making Booker dying if he is baptized a constant because she's sorta god. Flash forward to the second to last DLC for the game, Burial at Sea. In B@S you learn the booker you've been playing as is infact Comstock, but how could this happen? Well sometime before and during the climax of infinite proper, this Comstock was so ract with guilt after accidentally killing Elizabeth, he flees to an alternate universe to escape his past. Meaning that he was severed from his universe, meaning when booked was drowned at the end of infinite to prevent Comstock from existing, his timeline ceased to exists but because he was completely severed from it, making him anomalous. That's why hard cor noir Elizabeth decided to kill him, because he shouldn't exists. What if the same is true with movie Megatron? Now we all now the movie operate by Saturday morning cartoon logic, the bad guy always loses. What if that was interpreted literally. Think about all the ways Megatron could've died. He could've died on impact arriving on earth. He could've never been found due to some reason and remind in ice. Sector 7 could've destroyed him trying to solve the mysterious nature of him or maybe because man is not meant to have this much power, or something. What if Frenzy died, or sam died, or starscream just gave up and he was never found in the Hoover Dam. What if there were no parts of the allspark left,, or the decipticons never bothered to resurrect him in ROTF. Or maybe he got all of his head blown off instead of most of it at the end. Maybe between movies he just keeled over from his wounds. Anyway, the club bio suggests that this Megatron is one that didn't die at the end of Bark at the Moon, killing prime instead. What then? At thst point he's living on borrowed time, he'll die or get murdered because Saturday morning cartoon logic, the bad guy never wins. So the day comes and this bad enough dude to stop, Megatron named Rodimus comes along and is pretty content on killing him. So the two fight, and at the point it can go a few ways. Rodimus straight guts Megatron and kills him, or Megatron is killed by his doomsday weapon or space bridge or whatever because hubris. What is this is the one Megatron that goes against his nature and lets go into the unknown as the clubs bio suggests, this was the one variation that wasn't killed by the space bridge or whatever and went in at the right time, landing him in the nexus. This is the one Megatron that's not meant to be, he's the only Megatron that didn't lose or get murdered because he cut himself off from his own universe making him an anomaly.
