Studio Series Core Class Wave 1 Found in Puerto Rico and Wave 2 found in Dubai

Yeah, that's right. BOTH wave 1 and wave 2 of the Studio Series's core class are available at retail right now, somewhere in the world. For wave 1, which has Ravage and Shockwave, it was found at Canóvanas Walmart in Puerto Rico. The sighting is from Jampy on Facebook. Wave two, which adds 86 Spike to the mix, was found in Dubai just now at Hamleys. That sighting is from Jiggs Ong.

Here is the wave breakdown for those curious.

Wave 1:
TF6 Ravage x4
TF6 Shockwave x4

Wave 2:
TF6 Ravage x2
TF6 Shockwave x2
86 Spike x4

Wow, that's kind of crazy with wave 2 in Dubai. I spent a bit of time in Dubai for work during the prime wars trilogy, and they were always about 3 waves behind.

Question:

Since this was a theatrically released Movie. Could/Should this open up it's own Studio Series line?

I'd say no. Movies based on TV series are a dime a dozen in Japan and serve more as extensions to those series. In fact they're more like longer episodes given their runtime (under 1 hour), and can't really be compared to feature length movies here.

I assume in a "fictional" real world scenario the suits arms and legs would fold "around" the occupants arms and legs, or they tuck in somehow, otherwise, Spike pretty much dies the first time this transforms, or at the very least has broken arms & legs. After all, it does appear he (or in this case Daniel) has his arms tucked in next to his head with some controls which are not in the same location as the suites arms in alt mode ;)

It's weird to think that in spite of the run time, this is the only other Transformers film. The Movie, Bayformers, BB and this BW2 movie.

While the convention of TV series movies might be common place in Japan. Within Transformers it isn't. That said, while I would like to see some of the figures that didn't make it into the Mainframe show, that appeared in the Japanese series, get new shiny figures in an SS line. It would annoy me as the MP Beast Wars line has gone dormant for a while now.

Majin Zarak definitely, with Flash Lio Convoy and Burning Convoy added as bonuses.

I wish...Unfortunately Hasbro doesn't really care how movies were released in other countries. I'm just glad we got a Selects God Neptune. My dream is still for a Titan Majin Zarak...but that's over on that "will never happen" list... :(

I mean if TT did it's own SS exclusives that would be amazing, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

Predacons Rising is a Movie too, no? Plus we now have 2 new Cyberverse films now.

38. There are thirty eight characters in that Movie. Including both Beast Wars combiner teams. The idea of most of the characters present getting modern figures would be amazing.

Yes absolutely it is ;)^ . I just wonder if it was actually released theatrically anywhere...even in a limited run?

Remember the "There are Nine Transformers Films" rant I did a while back ;). BWII is the only TF film I don't have a physical or digital copy of

I didn't follow Prime, so I had no idea about Predacons Rising. A quick look on the wiki only mentions 'Hulu'. So I assume it wasn't released in cinemas. Which would mean BW2 counts more towards this line than it would.

I have a feeling they're both the same in Hasbro's eyes...on the 'fat chance' list. As I said in the other ss thread, we're more likely to get a What If? Style line of toy only designs like Wreckage etc

This is the most aggravating part though. These series are the only ones with films. Beast Wars (and Machines) didn't have one. Nor did Animated, Car Robots or UT. So when the '86 line winds down. The SS range exists for the Live Action films alone. Opening up the line to BW2 would add a considerable amount of variety at least.

Honestly, the 86 line just feels like a technicality. I mean it has Jazz who is not a character that was introduced in the film nor is prominant in it. It's just a convenience to have more toys on the shelves for you to buy that fit with other toys also on the shelves, (or on your shelves) like Cyclonus, Rodimus and Galvatron.

And we'll need that SS range since we are getting a whole bunch more characters in ROTB that are going to need SS releases like:

Mirage
Arcee
Optimus
Bumblebee
Off Road Bumblebee
Wheeljack
Optimus Primal
Cheetor
Airazor
Rhinox
Nightbird
Battletrap
Scourge

And whoever else they want from AOE, the Dinobots would be great to make up those leader/voyager slots.

I'd love more than anything for SS to open up for BWII. However, I think there are at least 50 characters (possibly more) from the 2nd-5th Bayverse films that haven't been released. then there are several more for BB, and then with TFTM, even if we assume "movie accurate" decos from ER and Kingdom count, and wont be redone in SS86, there's still several characters there, so more than enough to fill in the 1 year gap until RotB. 4-5 years easily to cover all that ground without even touching BWII.

Good and fair points. I just hold out the faintest hope that someday Tripredacus and Magnaboss might receive a redux.

Speaking of RotB. What is the typical turnover between standard movie line and inclusion in SS?

Amen. Updates to those two would be Amazing! If the BB movie is any indication, it is about a year after the films release to get SS. However...since RotB got pushed back, and we do know some of the more kid-aimed RotB toys will be released this year, because well, cant stop production, then next year in 2023, when the film actually comes out, SS could be looking pretty good for RotB releases.

Pretty crazy that we are still only January and the second wave of 2022's Studio Series core class has already shown up at retail. Spike is the only new toy in that wave and we now have some in hand images to share with you. They give us a much better look at the alt mode, and we can see that he indeed does have defined back wheels. The images below come from a review uploaded by Chefatron.

Theatrical release?

Maybe in select theatres, but it was made to be sold on DVD, like the DC Animated films. But in this now age of streaming, a theatrical release is meaningless. It's still a TF film made by a studio.

Though I don't see that nor animated beast Wars getting into the SS line.
