Takara is Reissuing MP Megatron, Sideswipe, Prowl and Wheeljack in 2025 along with Boxsets

This may not be news for everyone, but we wanted to give an FYI to fans who may benefit to know that Takara is reissuing several figures next year. For the Masterpiece line, they will reissue MP36 Megatron along with MP12+ Sideswipe, MP17+ Prowl and MP20+ Wheeljack. Those are the toon deco versions. This will be happening in 2025, along with 2 multipacks: SS Devastator and Legacy Menasor.

In less exciting news, they will also give fans another chance to get the Universal Studios redeco of the Studio Series Leader DOTM Megatron toy.

It is unclear which of these will be exclusive reissues through takara tomy mall and which will be non exclusive, and available readily on Amazon Japan and other Japanese retailers.

I wish they'd reissue some of the hard to find UW box sets. Getting that Takara Computicon for less than $400 would be nice.

If it is Studio Series, it will definitely be SS69, since we're talking about reissues.

Not in the UK, I lost count of how many times I saw it when posting on UK transformer sightings here, it was mainly through hasbro/hasbro ebay and other retailers.

Can confirm for canada too. That set didnt last too long.

But anyways it doesn’t matter, Takara is releasing it for their own market. How it performed elsewhere is irrelevant to them.

But anyways it doesn’t matter, Takara is releasing it for their own market. How it performed elsewhere is irrelevant to them.

I had my SS69 upgraded with the DNA Design kit. It was okay in combined mode, but the thing was unstable and not fun to fiddle with. So I ended up selling it to my local geek store for 300$CAN in store credits.
The thing barely last a week inside that store before being sold, even at 600$CAN.

So, I bet that as soon as the preorders are open for the SS69 reissue, it will sell out quickly. Even at full price, plus taxes, and the high shipping costs.

Makes sense, they are gonna need the funds from these reissues for the Armada toys.

March, June, September...October in 21 ss devy on sale, then they really lowered the price after failing to clear them out by December 2022...they were still available elsewhere for £150 for well into 2023

day 20 of hasbro pulse advent calendar is tranformers anda bigger selection of offerinbgs compared to most days but a lot of stuff can be found cheaper elsewhere still so honorable mentions are

Tonkatron £88 (as much as I like G1 toys I dont think the quality of the constructicons is worth this but each to their own)

In the U.S., no brick-and-mortar mass retailer ever carried the Devastator giftset at all. I only ever got to see the set in person at conventions.

I had to get my SS69 Devastator from elsewhere without the discounted price I wanted but at least I got Earthrise Scorponok for way cheaper at the same time in 2022.

As for Devastator, I kinda hope Takara gives it the nice paint brush up. Not likely, but I can hope, it's the only reason I didn't get SS69, I had the retail releases and there was minimal reason to double dip

MP-36 was the toon-accurate version from the get-go. The "Mp-36+" release was the toy-colored version.

Never cared for the "cartoon accurate" direction they went for the Masterpiece line. Makes the figures look way too basic especially for that price tag. Let me know when the original MP Starscream mold is going to get re-issued. I would love a second chance to get that version of Thundercracker. (With all QC issues fixed of course!)

You'll have a better chance just hunting down the original.
That's what I did and I got my Greenscream at a reasonable price some years ago.

I transformed Megatron once, it is really complicated and not fun to do, that's besides the paint-scraping issues. I never added the stock and silencer since I heard that people were shearing the barrel off because of the way the silencer connects.
