Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath, we have news of a new promotional campaign from Takara Tomy Transformers to celebrate the Japanese Generation 1 continuity of stories - from Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers to Victory, via the Headmasters and Masterforce, with a nod to Transformers 2010 too - in the form of coasters to be given to people purchasing at least 1000 Yen of product at participating retailers. All retailers, coasters, and artists are copied below, including the art too!

  • Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers: Optimus Prime (First Convoy) & Orion Pax at Cybertron Satellites from 31 March 2018. Artist: Hidetsugu Yoshioka.
  • Transformers 2010: Rodimus Prime & Hot Rod, at Joshin Kids Land from 31 March 2018. Artist: Kazumasa Yasukuni.
  • The Headmasters: Fortress Maximus & Fortress, at Takara Tomy Mall, preorders opening 24 March and shipping 31 March 2018. Artist: Hayato Sakamoto.
  • Chojin Masterforce: God Ginrai & Godbomber, to be announced. Artist: Kazumasa Yasukuni.
  • Transformers Victory: Victory Saber & Victory Leo, to be announced. Artist: Hayato Sakamoto.

I think these were mentioned in the last set of magazine scans.

Who the heck crapped in Rodimus Prime's Cheerios!? Has he ever looked more fierce?

Meanwhile Victory Leo looks strangely happy.

Also isn't the focus a little strange on the last two compared to the first two since the focus seems to be on upgrading? Orion Pax to Optimus Prime and Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime are fine, but God Bomber instead of Ginrai or Super Ginrai with God Ginrai and Victory Leo instead of Star Saber with Victory Saber seems like they're focusing on the wrong characters.

I'd love a Victory coaster but there's no way I'd pay the after market price for it.

Just make them yourself or have custom ones made using the pictures. Problem solved. :D

i don't have the artistic ability and having someone make it would probably be as much as getting an official Takara one.

If anyone cares, not that it benefits anyone here, the Headmasters coaster is going to Takara Tomy Mall. Limited to first 1,000 purchases of 1,000 JPY or more in Legends and Masterpiece figures (as if you could get one for less than 1,000 JPY). Apparently it started back on March 26, I only just noticed it now in their email.

Hmm, Just a thought but maybe they might ome with Greatshot? I can see Takara sending them out with the figure since it's a TT Mall exclusive.
