Thanks to an alert by Seibertronian Cyberpath and our favorite source of Transformers Takara product TFYuki, we bring to you a new image of the upcoming Legends Hardhead, who is clearly ready to roll out to your collectors shelf! But, one big piece of information is now revealed: Takara is sticking with the Headmaster title instead of the "Titan Master" title of the Hasbro line. The title Headmaster can be seen on Hardhead's box. Check out the new image, and prepare, for Hardhead is gonna be busting up onto the scene here very shortly!

Not particularly surprising; Takara loved adhering to the past and I'm not actually sure why Hasbro renamed them Titan Masters anywho.
In any case I'm adoring that retro packaging, especially with how the Headmaster is shown off in it's own little corner

They already stated that all masters themed figures starting now will be called Titan masters. That includes headmasters, target masters and possibly even power masters IF they do that. And like I said somewhere else, who cares. You'll call it whatever you want when you have it.

Hasbro usually is the only one who actually does business promotions and will tell us stuff like that. Let's not kid ourselves, Takara has terrible advertisement for transformers. Their toy announcements are magazines and tweets. Once in a while we will find out something at a toyfair in Asia but let's be honest most stuff is found by tweets and magazine scans.

This toy is out in like a couple weeks and we're just now seeing the packaging and finding out theyre using the name "headmaster" and whos surprised? It's takara

No, they revealed the packaging a month and a half ago at tokyo toy show http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... age/35585/

They reveal their figures at shows, just like Hasbro does.

Not most of the time though. Yes sometimes well get a "reveal" but it's rare. Cheetor, inferno and weirdwolf were the only reveals there. Most of the time it's the magazines and tweets from tfyuki. That's how we found out about all their adventure line, all the combiners, almost all their headmasters.

Then again it's getting ridiculous now over here with the leaked blueprints and color schematics that are getting leake now. I still have a laugh thinking about all the people who claimed fortress Maximus was a fake. Yup, he's looking pretty good on my coffee table right now. :lol:

Yeah but there's no targetmasters or powermasters in this toyline so far despite characters who would have them - Blurr, Scourge, Triggerhappy, Powermaster Optimus Prime - being the ones that would have them, so it seems a bit pointless.
And I'm not exactly complaining, I'm just confused over the decision.

Yet. There's none of them yet. It's not off the table. If they're saying all -masters will be called Titan masters then it's entirely possible were getting other stuff too and who cares if certain target masters and PM prime are headmasters. There still plenty of other characters

We don't know what's coming after Titans return just like we didnt know what was coming after combiner wars. Honestly I don't want another gimmick. Powermasters might come it. Just as long as it's not pretenders

To Hasbro, they're just vehicles. To TakaraTomy, they're sentient drones and as such they have names (Batra and Tankette). Think of them like Action Master partners, without the Action Master.

Fellow Seibertronians, user Professor Smooth has shared with us pictures of the upcoming Takara Tomy Transformers Legends Ginrai! This leader-sized figure is an extensive retool of the already-released Titans Return Powermaster Optimus Prime, with a look much more resembling that of the toy from 1988. This reveal shows us colour pictures of the Vehicle and Robot Mode from the front and back, a couple development pictures and a comparison with his Hasbro counterpart; but leaves out the Base Mode for now. Take a look at the pictures below!

In other Legends news, fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath has shared with us a tweeted picture from Yuki of Hardhead singing Karaoke, along with a picture of his packaging, and of the latest Legends comic (number 37), which is a prologue to the comics found with the upcoming headmasters.

That comic's set during the same year as the Grand Galvatron and Lynxmaster comics, ten years after The Headmasters cartoon, featuring characters from Masterforce alongside characters from The Headmasters, with little Headmaster Scorponok in his BlackZarak colors that were never seen in the show.

And it looks like we see how everyone got their Legends bodies, and how the non-Headmaster characters became Headmasters.

Small detail: Fort Max has the Master Sword in one panel. Given that Takara hasn't shown that Legends Max has it (which it probably definitely will), I thought it was notable.

Yeah, dont get the feet either. Not a fan. But it is cool how this is pretty much its own major retool of the already exsting retool. I really like that cab.

Looks cool. I don't think I'll be getting Ginrai but that is an impressive retool. Besides the ankle tilts my favorite part of this figure is probably the 5 mm fists replacing the loose finger hands on Magnus and Powermaster Prime.

Looking at it a bit more, I think it's actually my favourite base mode so far for one particular reason: the cab's left untouched and on the ground.
It's sort of like Ginrai drove up and unfolded his trailer for a quick command base, sort of like how other versions of Optimus like the Armada guy would do so. I like it.

Ginrai looks great (do the feet rotate around, though? They look like they're supposed to go horizontal, not vertical), but what I'm really digging is that wee Tarantulas with a labcoat and tie. How much do I have to pay someone to get a figure/plushie of that?

I'd been holding off getting Hasbro's new Optimus to see what Takara did with Ginrai. Seeing both side by side, however, I'm feeling torn as to which one to actually get, if either at all.

I do like the improvements Takara made to the arm panels to give the hands full clearance, but otherwise I think I prefer the feet and chest on the on the Hasbro version. While in vehicle mode I do like Takara's more traditional cab, I think I prefer the color layout on Hasbro's trailer. I don't know... if I had the money I'd consider getting both and seeing if I could just kitbash them together to get the best of both worlds, but as is I'm just not entirely sold on either.
