According to online retailer Captured Prey the upcoming Transformers Masterpiece MP-18B Bluestreak will not feature a blue deco homaging the original Diaclone figure as was initially speculated. They are reporting this version will come with an all silver deco minus the black found on the standard release, the silver will apparently be a lighter shade as well.

Captured Prey wrote:Scheduled for a June release, this version of MP-18 Streak is slated to be a Japan exclusive. According to our information, this figure will be a "Silverstreak" deco, using a lighter shade of silver and without the black parts seen on the original MP-18 Streak. Product images are placeholders provided by the distributor.

But wait..............it seems a blue Diaclone version is in the works! Captrued Prey followed up with the following message on their Twitter account:

Captured Prey wrote:"The Blue version of (MP) bluestreak will be release later this year or beginning of next year. We are still negotiating with takara..."

Dunno why everyone is so nuts about a blue Bluestreak. The name refers to the dictionary meaning "continuous, rapid, or interminable speech: to talk a blue streak," which defines his character. Is it just because his Diaclone precursor was blue, or can people not be bothered to think more closely about things?

The original name was supposed to be a playful reference to his color as well. The original G1 figure actually had several versions in the parent Diaclone line, silver with black (the one the cartoon uses) and this one:

It's that deco made it into early catalogs, and created the myth that we actually got a blue Bluestreak in Transformers instead of the all silver. As such, people claim they had one or at least saw one, that sort of thing. It's a famous one among the oldies.

k... i highly doubt they chose the name bluestreak due to its literal definition in the dictionary. besides, by that logic blurr should be named bluestreak no?

and youd be surprised how closely people examine things. why else would there be people discussing this? good job essentially calling everyone stupid.

people want a blue bluestreak for the same reason they want tigertrack. its pretty simple.

anyways... im an MP completist. and i would love a blue bluestreak. like everyone else who ever saw the catalog pictures (for me it was trading cards which he was blue) ive always wanted one. but buying an MP silverstreak... even i take issue with that. its not nearly different enough from MP streak to warrant another purchase.

when pictures surface of "silverstreak", it better knock my socks off. to like, the other side of the room.

Well, I would have thought the logical thing to do when you see a character named Bluestreak, who isn't blue, would be to ask yourself "What the heck is a Bluestreak?" They may have intended him to be blue, as that would have been more obvious, but the fact that he talks constantly and at inappropriate times matches the definition well. Besides, I didn't call EVERYONE stupid. Only MOST of the population are inherently stupid, why do think the world is the way it is?

then maybe youd be surprised how many 3 year olds dont ask questions like that. cause i was a child once and didnt care about such things. as an adult i research things involved with my hobby (as do most people who care enough to post on a forum and discuss it) and now understand things like the "myth" of the blue bluestreak.

as far as the straight definition goes, it does match the bio. but ive watched the cartoons (particularly season 1 before it got 10X the characters) and i dont recall bluestreak talking more or less than any other character.

and if your outlook on like is that most of the world is stupid, i feel bad for you. but thank god for the internet, the greatest outlet for pessimists ever invented.
