Takaratomy Masterpiece MP-14+ Alert Anime Color Edition images

I don't really see the need of the anime color repaint, to be honest. What's wrong with the original repaint?

I will probably pick this up since I don't have the original MP-14 in my collection. If they do more of these like Wheeljack, I will most likely pass. I doubt I would buy the same character twice unless they do a complete remold like they did with Optimus Prime & Hot Rod.

I think he looks kinda nice - the only thing I'm especially disappointed by is the covered over headlamps.

I approve of the white upper legs and the bi-coloured launcher too.

I agree with earlier posters that the shoulders would have been nicer if they'd used the Sideswipe version of the mould there.

(Was there ever a KO of the Alert toy that used Sideswipes Mould ? if there was i'd buy it with pleasure over any other version those should wheels always looks really strange to me).

In fact it cause many a blazing row at the time the toy first came out.

I have a 3rd party Inferno now so I suppose I really should consider getting some sort of Red 'Alert' toy to complement him.

Always really liked the toy - boy was I made of disappointment when I saw what a totally unlikable character he was in the cartoon.

He's not even obnoxious in a likeable way like Sunstreaker or Tracks are.

He looks sharp. Hopefully still in stock for most online retailers by Christmas.

If some 3P made a set of clip on doors for this 14+, I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

I gotta say, I do like the new one better.

Red Alert is the first Masterpiece figure to get the "plus" treatment with Takara releasing a MP 14+ edition which is made to match the cartoon deco as close as possible. He is out now and several images have popped up all over facebook. Logan has sent several out way coming from Hobbybase, Photo vaut and UranusDD facebook pages. The ones from Uranusdd ofer a comparison with the initial Red Alert release. The change from white to grey paint is most apparent there and it gives us the best idea of how different both decos are. Which of you will be getting this new version, let us know!

Red Alert was awesome in the show and this hits every Sunbowish detail. IF I had the cash to collect masterpiece figures, this would be a must buy. I would be down for every Sunbow G1 + deco. Even the shade of colour of white looks better, much cooler.

That customiser is clearly very talented, but tbh I don't like it.

Also, I don't see the point in painting them with fake shadows and highlights. The toys are actual objects, they have real shadows and highlights already..
