The Fury of Fearswoop, Wal-Mart exclusive up for order

Posted by Blurrz Sep 19, 2009 at 10:56pm CDT 29,875 views
Wal-Mart.com has put their Revenge of the Fallen exclusive box set, the Fury of Fearswoop up for order. Priced at $25 US, this should be the same amount to be paid in store. The box includes Deluxe Fearswoop, an orange repaint of 2007 Movie Dreadwing, Legends Sideswipe and Legends Mudflap.

Thats odd. It looks like Sidewsipe and Mudflap have scratch mark paint apps on them, based on these pictures. But its not mentioned there battle damaged at all.

Now that you mention it, I see it too. Maybe they were scratched by Fearswoop?

Is Fearswoop mistransformed in that first picture? His head/eye looks huge and out of place compared to the body.

Unfortunately that's just how the Lens-heads were back in the 2007 Movie toyline.

That's a bummer. Dreadwing looks so much better in the Seibertron.com galleries :(

The Dreadwing alt mode is cool and I like the Hooligan look of Fearswoop. It's still an acquired visual taste. hehe.

Huh? Weren't exclusives really worthwhile a couple of years ago?
Voyager classics Magnus (20$) plus Deluxe classics Skywarp (10?$) = 20$
Even during Animated, purple Shockwave plus an activator were priced as a voyager alone!

Now, this horrible baby poo colored repaint of a lousy Deluxe mold (13$) plus two decent looking Legends (5$ each) = 25$ ?
did I miss something?

Is the addition of 2 legends to a deluxe really makes a difference? Didn't Costco even shell out 2 free legends with leader prime back in 2007?

I'm finding this extremely overpriced, even considering recent price increases.

Thank goodness for the coming holiday season, maybe we'll see some decent prices like last time (I know I bought the entire universe and animated line for 25% off plus free shipping on HTS last November, so good things come to those who wait).

I guess exclusives are just gonna get more expensive now, look at the TRU exclusives.

Well I guess it's easy for one to say that it's the economy's fault, and the same thing can be said about inflation. But the pricing for this shouldn't really matter, Wal-Mart is never really cheap with their exclusives and it's a hit-or-miss, some people will either buy it and most people will avoid it. Subsequently we're left with overstock and a sale in the future.

Yeah I know that exclusives cost more due to collectability & (supposed) rarity but I must say that TRU's pricing is ridiculous. I was in there yesterday to try to get HA Sideswipe, they had him but at the same price Wal-Mart across the way has Leader Class figures, so I looked at the Leaders at TRU $45 apiece for ROTF Leader Class(35 at Wal-Mart), 109.99 for Combiner Class Devastator(99.99 Wal-Mart), And they even still had their Deep Desert Brawl Leader from 2007 and it was 2 dollars more than the ROTF leader figures. The point of this rant is, this price isn't that bad for Wal-Mart considering if this was a TRU exclusive I guarantee pricewise it would be a toss up to buy this deluxe figure with 2 legends or a leader class. That being said this reminds me of my first x wife, tacky but oh so sexy in animal print. 8-} =P~ :SMUG:

To be fair, $44 is about the price of ROTF Leader class everywhere BUT Walmart, and the $35 price at Walmart is part of a September "rollback". Walmart can lower their prices below the competition for various reasons (the same reasons that are part of Walmart's vile reputation), and I never compare a Walmart Rollback price to prices at other stores, simply because those prices are specifically designed to undermine the competition, and in my humble opinion they achieve these prices through spurious means.

If you aren't aware of what I'm talking about (It's a pretty widely known thing where I live), there are a couple documentaries you should watch about Walmart. They have good prices on many things, but there are multiple things about the way they do business that are revolting.

Just imagine the concept art of Dreadwing deluxe from Movie 2007 with Fearswoop's color scheme.

hey, you're right!

sigh. :-( another item to add to my list (as if it weren't big enough anyway  )
I really need to downsize it, because I don't have the money for everything I want right now.

well the thing is the dreawing is a nice homage first, and second, the legends class figures are battle damaged, a rare occurence only for this set. Also its only in walmarts, and nowhere else. And most legends are around 6-7 bucks sadly
