Titans Return Deluxes On Sale at US Target Stores

Posted by Bronzewolf Nov 3, 2016 at 4:32pm CDT 45,251 views
It's November, which means it's the season of sales and deals, and boy have they been coming out in droves. We have another one today, cortesy of Seibertronian Ironhidensh, that pertains to US Target stores. Apparently Target is selling Titans Return deluxes at only $10USD. This might be in preparation for the holiday season, or to clear things out before wave 2 or 3 comes. Check out his photo down below that confirms he picked up Titans Return Blurr at that price. It's currently unknown wether or not this sale is available anywhere else in the world, or even in the United States, as this could be a regional thing, but if you find anything at your local Target, please send it out way or leave a comment here!

an employee

 My TRU would never have me as an employee, I think they hate me (and my awesome legal cost saving methods!).

Anyways, calling anything from TR shelfwarming is absurd. The line is way too young and its impossible to know if the stock you keep seeing week after week is the same stock or a restock.

And if the TRU employee tells me a TR stock has been there for like a month or two (it falls under the definition of "months"). So technically it is shelfwarming. One month, then it ain't. 2 months up it's months then it is shelfwarming...by the definition.

Now if you will demand TRU inventory records, from your's truly then I'd be happy to oblige but only if you also demand it too from other posters who use the term.

This is what happens when people argue how many angels can sit on a needle's head 8-}

None of that matters. A shelfwarmer is not defined by how long he is around. In the 80s you kept seeing Ramjet year after year but its not because he was shelfwarming, hasbro just kept pumping these toys out, rereleasing them, and they kept being bought and restocked.

A true shelfwarmer is a toy that is still on shelves when it can no longer be orderd, hence why the definition expresses that it was to be from another line when having the new line next to it. A good example would be ROTF toys still being around when DOTM is out, or all those simplified AOE tfs still being available when The last Knight toys come around. Those are shelfwarmers. You can all have your own views on a shelfwarmer and I wont police it. But if anyone wants to use it by its actual term, then the months is not as relevant as them appearing alongside a new line of toys. When you look at it that way, there arent that many shelfwarmers really. And plus, its not a great word to label a toy. I mean, we are all hoping parents and collectors find these TR toys this christmas season right? So why would there be despair to still see PMOP on the shelves?

So the definition you are following is from? That's the gist of it. It has to be 2 months up. Now if you use the very "reliable" (I use the term very loosely) tfwiki definition............

I would definitely say the AOE Leader Grimlock at my closest Target is a candidate for Shelfwarming, where as the Wave 1 TR Leaders at my local Walmarts are also warming shelves due to the residual heat caused from the friction from them flying off the shelf.
Either way the shelves are warm. :-P

There's a bunch of AOE stuff still at the local Entertainer. Stomp N' Chomp Grimlock, Legions, there was that Silver Knight 2-pack (the one with the FOC grimlock repaint)...
There's also a ton of Scattershots and Onslaughts that refuse to budge. Can we call them shelfwarming at this point? I'm not sure yet.

Its based on what has symbolized the word in the past. The ROTF toys were shelfwarming because they were alongside DOTM and Transmetal Scavenger was shelfwarming because he was still around once TM2 toys were all gone.

If a toy is a shelfwarmer because its around for 2 months then that means every toy is a shelfwarmer. And if every TF is one, then none of them are, since its no longer a term that can be used to single out specific toys. That renders the shelfwarming term useless, since they will all be there for 2 months or more. Its nonsense since a wave comes out every 3 months on average and a store would definitely hope for their shelves to always be packed. Especially for the holidays. Like this one:

If that Blaster is still there when that third part of the trilogy comes along, then I will call it a shelfwarmer, not before. But I am not the boss of anyone, you can call them whatever you want. I get tired and dont care much anymore, just like I dont care that people out there think the world is flat.

PS, more pics can be seen in the brag thread, my TRU was looking mighty pretty today :)

My Target is littered with Grimlocks. I think they have a bunch of Combiner and Titan leaders that will never see the light of day.

Last time I went to TRU, back in August, the entire Transformers section was just a bit bigger than the width of that section on the right with the Bees and Power Surge Optimus Prime and there wasn't much there. You'd think when there are only two TRU stores in a state and they're separated by 140 miles they'd go all out on keeping things well stocked. [-(

I can confirm that this is the price at Targets in Georgia as well.

Humorously, this means that Deluxes are now cheaper than Legends class figures, despite being twice the size.

Speaking of shelfwarming, I found this at a Walmart tonight:
Image
I think we can all agree that a first wave figure from last year qualifies as a shelfwarmer, right? ;)

And also while hunting, I finally found a Brainstorm at the ninth Walgreens I visited Georgians, it was on Buford Drive, east of I-85 at the intersection with Old Peachtree Road. I have posted this in the Georgia Transformers Sightings thread and will add it to the sightings program once my addition of the store location is approved.
Image
Since I didn't get Blurr (I'll get the Legends one eventually), it was my first experience with the mold and he's pretty good, but I wish he could hold his "hood" section upside-down in bot mode (without sticking it to the side of his arm) for the titan master gun integration. Not a huge letdown, but it seems like an odd oversight for the central gimmick of the line.

Also my Teslor seems to have a half-painted visor.
Image
(sorry if it's blurry, I couldn't get it in focus, zoomed in, and well-lit at the same time)

Then again, since all the wave 2 TMs (both single-packed and with transtectors) seem to have NO face paint, maybe I should be grateful he has some at all.

The titan masters that come with highbrow and Soundwave have face paint.

My local Target has had a terrible selection of Titans Return figures. I don't think I've even seen any Deluxes there. They've also reduced the size of the TF section to the smallest I've ever seen it since I started collecting 9 years ago.

Late to the part I know, but I just watched Peaugh's review of Voyager Megatron.

The engineering/mold itself looks great. The transformation is pretty neat and the articulation looks decent, considering the transformation. I'm not very impressed with the piddly little fusion cannon though.

What really lets it down IMO is the abysmal "paintjob". Almost all dull "Games Workshop Grey" (thanks for that one Vangelus!) with STICKERS for detail. Now I don't like stickers at the best of times, but when they're providing almost all of the colour detail for a figure? No. Just no. The chest swirls look particularly awful. It's extra inexcusable after the mediocre CW Leader Megatron got that sweet silver paintjob.

I'll be waiting for Blitzwing. If the Hasbro version goes for stickers for detail too I'll buy the Takara version.

Also, CW Ultra Magnus is 30 quid there now

Unfortunately - probably due to this - a lot of things are now sold out for delivery; including Galvatron, Hardhead, some Titan Masters and Skullsmasher.
