Toy Images of Welcome To Transformers 2010 Predaking

Posted by Mach Nov 26, 2010 at 9:41am CST 51,163 views
As the "Welcome To Transformers 2010" Predaking has been listed "In Stock" in various online toy stores as well as hobby shops in Asia, we have received the first out of the box images of this G1 combiner.

Takara Tomy has given Predaking a brand new paint work, with Gold colour replacing yellow parts of the original figures as well as metallic paint work. This version of Predaking is also the die cast version instead of full plastic version of the original toy.

Looks fantastic, I'm lucky enough to have the 20th Anniv reissue and really can't justify a second one.

Now if E-hobby did a Jungle themed one, then I might be persuaded......

can you tell me how big the box is? compared to, say.. the re-release of primus? (& unicron)

Looks superb. :D

Mine is on order, although it is my main Chrimbo present from the wife so can't have it until then! (Fully re-living childhood Christmas's this year.)

As I don't have any of the predacons I'm really interested to see how he compares with the other Gestalts I have.

SWEEEET. Mine is sitting in my PoL, waiting for payment...also a gift from my girlfriend. 8)

Weird, is that original Predaking in the comparisons sporting the CrazyDevy upgrades? His wings have more gold, and his arm gun is bigger. Confusing, especially if shiny Predaking paradoxically has less gold. I also still wish they did Razorclaw's face in red, but oh well. They'll be in combined mode most of the time anyway.

That's gorgeous. I think the gold really suits Predaking very well.

Sitting in my PoL. Can't wait to be able to click that "Ship" button. :D

Me too. I might have been able to afford it a couple of years ago, but not now I've got a family. The gold definitely looks a lot better than the yellow.

I like the yellow better than the gold, but it's still pretty cool.

He seems to have more decal applications. One of the pics have an entirely new label sheet which I suspect belongs to Razorclaw.

(on it's side) The box is a little taller but slimmer so to speak. It's heavier than the 2010 Unicron box and comes with a black handle on top that almost makes me wish I was carrying him home from the shop instead of getting him delivered from Red Mercury here in Japan! :D

I just got mine in the mail yesterday and that is one seriously cool box. I don't know how much longer I can wait before opening it!
Thank you Takara Tomy for re-releasing this guy - what a great choice for a reissue. :APPLAUSE:

I'm SO :D glad I waited just in case he would come out again and didn't waste $200 on the last boxed reissue when I say it in Mandarake in Akihabara (Tokyo) last year)

For the record, I think they should have done more to change his paint job as he has the orange and red look to similar.
The gold paint looks superb but he really needs some more yellow as well to break up the orange and red. :-?

And that is one small sword! Think I'll display him without it, would be tempted to buy the crazy devy one but it's a bit pricey and If I hadn't seen Optibotimus's review of the gold wings I might have been tempted to pep him up with those too.

Predaking rules! For everyone who's getting him for Christmas or in your Piles of Loot if you didn't know it already then you're in for a treat :CON:

Am I the only one who thinks the Gold (atleast in the pictures) looks kinda cheap and tacky?

Prefer the original Yellow version.

Sweet!

I always love seeing new and reissued combiners...just in case you couldn't work it out from my username! ;)

Reissued combiners are great, although it would be nice if they reissue something different other than the same ones over and over again.

Like Magnaboss and Tripredacus. I think it'd be great to see those reissued.

Of course, maybe some teams could be reimagined instead of reissued, and some of the old combiners have been reimagined already as PCCs, such as the Aerialbots, Stunticons, Protectobots, Combaticons, Dinobots and Constructicons. Hopefully we see reimaginings of other teams such as the Technobots and Terrorcons, as well as Magnaboss and Predaking as a new version of combining Maximals and Predacons, respectively.

After a rumour I heard recently. I think we've got as good a chance as ever of Devastator being the next one they bring out. :CON:

With his involvement in the movie Superion would be as likely as any too. :BOT:

Have to be honest, if a combiner/gestalt was obscure back in G1 then there is about a 0% chance of it ever being re-issued.

They are only going to re-issue the popular characters. We may have had some luck in recent years with the Encore line in particular giving us some nice surprises but we have to be realistic. There's no point in raising your hopes for something that is never going to happen.

My most wanted G1 reissue is Shockwave. He's a leader class character and I know I'll still be extremely lucky if he ever gets brought out again despite being in the new movie and being so popular.

Sorry, not trying to pour cold water on people's hopes but beyond Menasor, Superion, Technobots, Protectobots I think we'd be more than incredibly lucky.

Looks damn beautiful. It's just the gold that kind of turns me off with the figure.

It would look better if the other colours were similarly muted. It's fine if he's all bright or all dark but having the muted gold with the bright orange and red just looks weird to me.
