Toysrus Reports Having 7000 Exclusive Transformers Titans Return Grotusque Figures in Inventory

We don't always have a clear idea of inventory when it comes to big box retailers so it is always pleasant when we get any kind of clue. Fellow Seibertronian Tranzilla called Toysrus customer service to clear up any confusion there may have been with users receiving e-mails that their exclusive Titans Return Grotusque figure was in stock. They learnt that not only has it not actually been in stock yet on the site, but that they have 7000 in their warehouse. This is great news to all fans waiting anxiously for Grotusque since it shows that as with Arcee, any American fan who wants that figure will be able to get it thanks to such high numbers.

Them being ready in their warehouse and accounted for in their central inventory is also a good sign that they should be available to order soon. Of course, as with Arcee there is no indication that this will be found in stores and will most probably instead be an online exclusive. Here is the listing on Toysrus.com and below is the message Tranzilla wrote informing us of these facts:

Unless I misread the shipping information, they don't send anything outside of the States and their territories. So basically, for all us fans outside of the US, we're stuck with inflated scalper prices on eBay or asking a state-side friend to order one for us.

So 7000 figures divided by... how many TF fans in the States again? #-o

don't worry, i'm sure scalpers will be selling them on ebay for $100 each. :BANG_HEAD:

TRS.com TRU.com has a limit of 2. Harder to get quantities to make scalping worth it.

I just got the clone 2 pack on walgreens.com had to buy two to get the free shipping, but it was only a ten dollar difference so I'll repaint them I guess.

Ooook, add another store where Transformers overstock can be found. If you have an Aldi supermarket in your neighbourhood, they're stocking Titan Returns Ramhorn. Look it up! They'll ring up as Stocking Stuffers, much like the PotP Legends at Walmart.

It only ships to US but there are plenty of forwarding options where you can buy in the US and have them ship it to you, like borderlinx: http://www.borderlinx.com/US/en/

Alright Folks,

If what happened to me this morning happened to you, you got a few emails at 330AMish saying Grotusque was ready to go only to find out the 'Add to Cart' button was still grayed out. I called the 800 number again and looks like they were making some changes to the products page most notably that the item looks to be only available in stores according to the 'Good To Know' section of the page. I confirmed the 'store only' info with the Rep. I asked if there was a way she could verify stores that had it and was given a few, but none of them had it when I called directly after. At store level they said to check back when they get their next truck. Talk about frustrating. Ugh.

Arcee has the exact same "good to know" info so it doesn't mean "store only". The rep was probably just confirming that it would be available in stores as we believe Arcee eventually will be too. If anything this just confirms that Grotusque will be released the same way as Arcee.

I just got back from my local Aldi (I posted this same report in the Michigan sightings thread).

They had 1 Ramhorn, 1 Apeface and 1 Ptero by the register. I don't know if there is a fourth figure in the assortment. I bought the Ramhorn.

Now I'm only waiting to get Windblade and Twin Twist.

FYI: TRU is doing a 15% off everything sale today so Grotusque probably won't go up until Tuesday.
