Paramount has just released their first Transformers: Age of Extinction IMAX poster! The poster features Lockdown with what we assume is his ship in the background, as seen in the previous teaser trailer. According to MTV UK the ship is called the Nightship.

Transformers: Age of Extinction staring Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, T.J. Miller, Titus Welliver, Li Bingbing, Peter Cullen, and more hits theaters everywhere on June 27th! Check out the new IMAX poster below:

The poster looks pretty neat. Hope one of my friends at AMC can snag one for me.

Nice to finally get a good look at Lockdown, though it seems weird how humanoid he is, like he could be done with a physical costume. Not that it's a bad thing, just different compared to the typical Movie bot.

It is because he is a huge guy transforming into a sport car... Without mass shifting! And we can see that his body was designed with that thing in mind.

They seem to be making a fair amount of effort at making this movie stand apart from the prior 3 installments. The text in the poster is unlike the previous movie posters. I'm almost inclined to believe that this movie might actually BE different from the first three. "Almost" being the operative word there. I'm still extremely cynical about it and stand by my belief that they should have stopped at DotM. Obviously they have learned nothing from history. The Freddy movies turned to crap after #3 and even die-hard Star Wars fans like myself tore the prequel movies to shreds (and speaking of "Die Hard", that's another franchise that should have stopped at number 3). To date, only the Harry Potter Movies have had a successful run with all of their follow-ups being decent. Even the Trek movies had some serious bombs in the line-up. Paramount should know better than to even attempt what they are thinking of doing with having a run of six Transformers movies. The ONLY person on the face of this or any other world that could pull off such a run would be James Cameron and he's smart enough to not even involve himself with such a commercial property. All we can expect from these next 3 films is the night and day difference between the first Punisher movie (not the Lundgren version, that one doesn't count) and the follow up to it which was nothing but a crap fest with even more gunfire and explosions than any 3 Bay films combined and less substance than any 6 put together. This is going to be the idiot-fan's version of the Transformers from here on out. (Not that the first 3 were any kind of freaking prize for us)

You must be fun at parties.

I'm very excited about the fourth movie, DOTM is one of my fav's (judge me if you must, The Dark Knight Rises and The Restless is also in my top 10 fav movies)

Love the poster, so cool that he's just walking like a boss in the trailer.

They don't even have Michael Bay's name on the poster above the title, like he has on EVERY other movie made by him.

DOTM is my #1 favorite movie, period. Just like ROTF before it.

Nice clean shot, the whole movie needs to look like this as much as possible. Lockdown still looks pretty complicated such that you can't really see much of a face.
And since we're naming fav movies, Transformers: The Movie is def my fav.

It looks like he is wearing a helmet. You can see it in the teaser trailer and on one of his toys. (I forget the name of the toy)

^ Most of Lockdown's toys have a helmet, and imply it has some kind of tactical visor thing. I think the only toys with a proper face are the Kreon (who has a flip-down visor) and one of those super-deformed sideline things.

... which makes me think Lockdown's identity is supposed to be hidden. Which is really weird since he's basically a new character and not someone the average viewer would recognize.

Are you guys seriously helping to advertise guns on a website about a children's product?

I'm gobsmacked beyond rationalizing this one.

It's news regardless its a new screenshot of the movie we never saw before.

I guess seibertron forgot about that though.

Agreed, the way the post is written sounds like an advert for their product.

It's a news story about the upcoming Transformers movie and like one had previously mentioned it does show a screencap from movie. I don't see anything inappropriate about the post but understand it is a hot topic. Either way I think you should give seibertron.com the benefit of the doubt.

Is this gun the simplified version for children's use? Or will be released in generations line? 8-}

You know I don't care that it's a gun, I just find it dumb this is a news story to an extent, it'd be like:

"Hey Here's a photo From the IKEA website that's cropped picture of Marky Mark sitting on a couch. We can't contain the excitement for Age of Extinction"

Just to give you guys an idea, we write about things relating to the upcoming movie. This manufacturer was proud that their product was featured in AofE, and that's cool for them. We shared it because it's an interesting fact that it isn't just a prop weapon. The movie picture wasn't the feature of the article because, while we haven't seen it before, is it really that exciting as a stand-alone shot from the movie? My point was certainly not to create a gun advert. However, that was the information afforded to me by the gun manufacturer's FB page, and that's the info I had to go off of.

Now, please. The Transformers franchise is about giant Transforming robots shooting each other. Let's not turn this thread into pro or anti gun. It will get locked if that happens.
