Good hunting everyone. I remember when the throne of the prime optimus primal was sighted at a Ross. I hit up so many and never saw a trace. Hopefully this one is better!

In the good old days, American men would go out and shoot a deer. Now, they buy a cut-price Trypticon. Is that a good thing? You decide!

Is it fair to say this color variant Trypticon didn't do too well? Even with the understanding the 1st color variant release would have cannibalised some of the sales.
Did the 1st color variant release go to discount stores, too?

Hard to say how well it sold since it was only sold online, but it is still readily available at most stores. These would have come directly from Hasbro most likely so they could have just been overstock as online stores (and comic shops for that matter) are more likely to just drop the price until they sell and aren't in much hurry to do so.
I don't remember if the original Trypticon was sold at discount stores, but I do remember it ended up reaching deep discounts.

Yup. Tons of them were found at Ollie's stores for really low prices, like $70 or something.megatran wrote:Did the 1st color variant release go to discount stores, too?

Walmart.com has Cyberworlds Grimlock for only $15! https://www.walmart.com/ip/TRA-CYBERWOR?wmlspartner=FYAGeMjDX6c&=&affs=p&wid=5b6b4213e4b0bcb699adeb9f&u1=&oid=223073.10006940&sourceid=37141976172661509211&affillinktype=3&veh=aff ... 4605402749
They also have all of the latest pre-orders at the old prices instead of higher prices so it's a good time to order a TFOne Alpha Trion for $35 or Soundwave for $55. Worst case they cancel the order and you aren't out anything.

Well, we no longer need to go risk our lives to go hunting. But it does not mean the hunter in us is dead.
