Those interviews and commentaries from those specific four people have me suspecting that Shout! Factory might have just carried over the exact same ones from the previous Rhino DVD set of this show.

I'm commenting on a products I don't care about! \o/

For real though, I'd like to hear from the dude who designed the Vehicons, because those were the only good thing about this series.

:MAXIMAL:
No, more people like Beast Machines nowadays then they did back then. Liking it has become increasingly less minor since.

I wrote this in another thread:
Sabrblade wrote:Honestly, Beast Machines is the most highbrow and most tightly-written series we've ever gotten. From start to finish, it feels like the writers knew exactly what they were doing going into it with very little of anything feeling like it was forced in at the 11th hour (there are traces of such things in there, but it's exceedingly minor). It took its audience seriously and engaged us on an intellectual and philosophical level (You know, for kids! :P ), asking and exploring big questions and high-minded concepts that no other series (let alone other kids cartoons of the time) were willing to ask and explore. It dug deep into the soil of the lore to plant the seeds of its own mythos to add to all that came before. It took risks and pushed itself to show just how far it could go with its potential, revolutionizing the brand's mythology and forever changing it for years to come. 8)

It'll be nice to try to watch this again and gain a new perspective on it. I was sorta mixed about it at first when I saw it, but I liked a majority of the later episodes I did catch. Hopefully it'll be added to Netflix for streaming.

i might be one of BM's biggest supporters on this site, so obviously im looking forward to this. even though i have rhino's dvd's.

does anyone think our TF cartoons will make it to high def? im currently buying and watching the newest releases of the anime dragon ball Z on blu-ray. is their following bigger than ours? i would seriously re-buy every TF series on blu-ray if they were released.

This set is looking more and more like a straight rerelease of the previous DVD set from Rhino Entertainment, right down to the episode selections and bonus features of each disc. The only thing that seems to be new about this set is its packaging. The deciding factor in whether or not this is indeed just a straight rerelease will be the look of the disc menus.

Can anyone please explain to me why this is not being released on Blu-ray instead of DVD format?

They should be releasing all of the original TF shows in Bluray as well.

It doesn't make sense. HUB network used to show the G1 show in HD, and it was quite a big difference.

No TF cartoon aside from Animated, Prime, and Rescue Bots exists in an HD format.

If they were to put this on Blu-Ray, it'd likely look no different on Blu-Ray than it would look on DVD, thus defeating the point of a Blu-Ray release.
