Two small bits of news for anybody considering to buy this year's new Cyber series from Hasbro. These figures are all on Hasbro's official site, using the stock photos first seen on the Transformers Columbia fanpage.

However, the listings now offer us both a confirmation of the name of these two sub lines as well as the MSRP, which so far has only been estimated from the Brazillian price point.

The 11 inch Optimus and Bumblebee are part of the Transformers Cyber Commander Series and will retail for 19.99$.
The 7 inch Starscream, Optimus, Bumblebee, Megatron and Grimlock are part of the Transformers Cyber Battalion Series and will retail for 14.99$.

From other pictures, it looks like the tank gun is detachable, and can either be attached to his forearm or held in his hand.

Think these prices are cheap for big toys like this.

Was Guessing the Cyber Seven toys would cost $19.99. Guessed the Cyber Eleven toys were going to be around $35.

With the prices being so low. Plan to buy more of these toys.

To elaborate: the barrel is a separate piece, necessity for the transformation. As you can tell, the arms point back to form the turret, but the barrel still attaches forwards.

Megatron and Starscream appear to be the only ones that look like they are worth buying. If, and only if, Starscream has knees.

Those shampoo bottles will be replaced by the RID shampoo bottles. But yeah, I sure hope these new figures replace the non transforming TF stuff crowding the shelves. I actually think these are more a step in the right direction to get kids interested in TFs.

I just saw that Megatron has knees! That actually makes this toy somewhat acceptable and I may pick it up.
If the Starscream mold has them, it's IDW enough that I want it as Thundercracker. But as far as I can tell neither of the optimus molds have knees so the odds aren't good.

The movie stuff is certainly working its way out of stores, but don't expect Hero Mashers to go anywhere soon. Is it really that big of a deal anyway? Most of the stores I go to mix the Transformers and Marvel HMs together and sell them closer to the Marvel stuff than the Transformers.

At these prices I'm definitely keeping an eye out for 11" Prime and 7" Megatron and Starscream.

There's going to be RiD Hero Mashers too.

And while I get what you're saying, wouldn't the intention likely have been that they made the RiD toyline to appeal to kids, rather than the G1 rehashes? (Unless they were expecting Cartoon Network to bury RiD lik they have.)

I never noticed this before but on the box for Megatron there's this big hunk of plastic coming down the side. Is the toy mis-transformed or am I going blind?

Nope, we've seen it in the initial catalog shot, too. It's his feet, apparently they pivot outward. If they pivot inward too then all the better for his poseability. I guess he has a stationary gun instead of a moving turret, but I think we knew that anyway.

We've had low resolution images of the Transformers Cyber Battalion line (the 7 inch toys) and while we eventually got better images of the 11 inch line, it is now time to have new images for the 7 inch line as well. Brazillian (again!) retailer Toymania now has high quality images of the Cyber Battalion line for Starscream, Grimlock, Bumblebee and Megatron and the listings even feature new pictures of their alt modes which give us a better idea of the transformation involved. It also confirms that Megatron has a removable turret cannon that becomes a gun he can hold in robot mode.

Also, some do appear to have knees, such as Grimlock who knee-ds it for his transformation. Hasbro has stated that the MSRP on these 4 figures, whose images are mirrored below, is 14.99$ US.

I can see joints on Starscream's knees as well. Again, if he is largely based on his Legends figure, he will have knees.

If you look at the very top of his shoulders you can see where his guns can be pegged in.

It's based on the Legends figure, but not so slavishly that everything matches perfectly. The feet don't turn into thrusters and his wings are now jointed, probably so they'll fit in the box (perhaps removable). If 11" Prime and Bee don't have knees then they have little reason to add knees when they aren't part of the transformation. They seem to be content with well articulated shoulders and hips.

Plus:

Clearly no knees.

Y'know, I don't mind these simplified transformations and upsizing or downsizing when they're done right and some of these are done right. What bothers me, immensely I might add, is that their articulation is severely limited on some things.

All of them could use pivots and ball joints everywhere. Wrist swivels, heads, knees, hips, ANKLES, I don't think it's too much to ask for those things and I can't imagine they add any difficulty to these molds. I just can't.

I hate it when they pull crap like this. Starscream actually looks like something I'd buy, I really do like him quite a bit, but the lack of something as simple as ankle pivots drives me insane.

Tsk tsk tsk. Sure, the lack of some articulations is a bummer for a lots of us. But you seem to miss the point of this line. SIMPLIFICATION. Too much articulations mean automatically a more complicated transformation. Most kids and adults that are just entering into the world of Transformers would have no clue where to start. So it's a great way to introduce the classic designs to beginners.

Never forget that before doing algebra one must first learn that 1+1=2.

Well, I'm certainly offended. Thanks for talking down to me, which wasn't necessary. Why, exactly, do you assume someone is stupid and needs it explained? Why am I not allowed to have my opinion without people like you crapping all over it?

I missed nothing, including the point of this line. An ankle pivot would add an extra step to Starscream's transformation? Really? A side to side pivot? A wrist that swivels?

In the future, think before you post something like this. It's offensive and unnecessary. Don't do it again.

They could easily add ball joints and thus some articulation without making it complicated. The only "complications" ball joints add is younger kids may have a bit of a harder time lining things up. When you're five years old, most times you just want to be able to transform them quickly and easily.

Exactly. Sadly, just the basic step of lining things up is enough to make many people give up, thus giving up on the TF line altogether. This line will never cancel the most advanced lines like Generations and such. So, having very simplified CLASSIC designs to bring in new fans is a great thing.

I have an example close to home. One of my co-worker bought a TF for is then 4yo son at the DOTM time. He bought DOTM voyager Optimus Prime. Even with the instructions, he never could figure how to transform the damn thing and "just wanted to smash the thing on a wall". Remember that DOTM Voyager OP is piss-easy compared to Voyager HFTD Battle Blades OP. As expected, the toy was soon forgotten in the dephts of the toybin. Did he ever bought a TF for his son again? No. So, that's one less fan for the future. If at the time, there were entry levels TF that looked awesome but were simplified enough like the one-steps and this line, they would have been able to enjoy Transformers and would have bought more. After a few simplified TFs, they would have moved on to more complicated and sophisticated TFs.

I noticed something missing from TF packagings of the latest lines starting with AoE. WHERE THE HELL IS THE DIFFICULTY RATING? They should bring it back like so:
1-Basic
2-Easy
3-Intermediate
4-Hard
5-Expert
This would help parents and newbies a lot.

Actually, the first Transformers figure I got was a really complicated figure. I think it was Animated Bee, his transformation to vehicle mode was impossible! Then again, I was 8 so......

Ball joints aren't always wonderful as has been mentioned. It makes transformation needlessly difficult more often than not. Here's my thing. If a car sprang to life in front of you would you stop and count POA, or run away screaming like a little girl?

Thats because they changed that for the amount of steps which is more technical and gives a better idea of what's involved.

My first TFs were G2 Dreadwing, BW terrasor, BW Cheetor and BW Cybershark. All very easy for me as a kid but with great articulation.

Firstly, I LOVE that Zing on top.

And secondly, while the Starscream and Megatron in these sets are from a time kids may not be aware of (Even I have no clue what Megatron that is supposed to be), Grimlock, Bumblebee and Optimus are kinda huge right now. And they are using alt modes that are in line with modern interpretations of these characters in toys, TV and film, especially the 11 inch optimus, 7 inch bumblebee and Grimlock's color scheme. I really wouldnt call that bumblebee G1.

Actually, the first Transformers figure I got was a really complicated figure. I think it was Animated Bee, his transformation to vehicle mode was impossible! Then again, I was 8 so......

What I don't get is why they don't just make figures like they did back during the transformers cybertron/galaxy force days. Those things were a snap to transform but had a ton of articulation.

Hell yeah, Cybertron is DAH TITS!
One of the best TF line ever, giving a perfect mix of old shcool and modern, while being both kid and hardcore friendly. I wouldnt mind if Hasbro pull a 2007 Movie by sneaking a few more Cybertron repaints into some main lines.

Hmm. I like Megatron and Starscream more and more... The only thing that bothers me about Megatron is that face sculpt, it's a bit off. Starscream, Optimus and Bumblebee all look good in that department, but Megatron's just a wee bit off.

I'd still snap him up in a heartbeat, though. 'Screamer's first, however.

Exactly how was Kanrabat being offensive ?

Over on the devy thread, it was me complaining about an over-simplified kiddie figure and you were defending it against my anti-kiddie jokes. >:oP

But on this thread youre complaining about over-simplification and someone else is saying the same thing you told me...these were meant for kids. :BANG_HEAD:

You really should lighten up. You seem to think everyone is being offensive but in reality theyre just speaking their mind. Or as your buddy Burn would say #justbeingoutspoken
