Transformers Generations Selects Turtler and Gulf Available on Hasbro Pulse

Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian xRotorstormx, we have some good news for those of you who were interested in the Generations Selects series Seacons, but didn't get a preorder in when they were up. It appears as though the first two in the set, Turtler (Snap Trap) and Gulf (Skalor), who recently began shipping via Hasbro Pulse, are now available for purchase, and are in stock at Pulse! Given that preorders were only open for a limited time, and the limited availability of the figures in general, this is something of a surprise, but a welcome one, nonetheless. Click on each figure below to be taken to Pulse, where you can place your order.

I've also included an order confirmation from yours truly verifying that these figures are indeed available.

So are you excited about this development? Have any theories as to why they're available? Are you hoping for the other Seacons to be available like this as well? Speculate below, and let us know what you think!

My own personal theory is that these are figures who were from canceled preorders. It doesn't make sense to have limited time to order them if you're just going to make them available afterwards anyway.

It is possible they saw the interest/listened to feedback and asked for a larger shipment, and that may have had a part in the delay?

That's also entirely possible. Makes more sense, actually, because they're still available and apparently have been most of the day.

I wasn't going to get this as I have the TFC version, but ... dangit, they look really nice. And the price is probably as good as it'll ever get.

But that shipping, tax, and conversion is what really gets you. Damn.

TFSource still has two of the six for preorder too, so I suppose I'll put those as a stack. That just leaves finding Seawing and Nautilator for a decent price. Later on. Or maybe not for a decent price at all if I misjudged all this...

The name "Turtler" makes him sound like an unfortunate type of bowel movement.

Those look like some Titans Return Galvatron parts.
Did we already know that?

Thanks to a notification from Takara Tomy Toys on Twitter, we have an update on the Takara Selects release of Super Megatron, which was last teased a year ago along with the initial teaser of Turtler. Takara Tomy posted on their Twitter page a shadow image of Super Megatron in both his robot mode and his jet mode, with the caption stating that a full reveal of the figure can be expected this week on April 2.

This Super Megatron appears to be an extensive retool of the Titans Return Galvatron mold, and he is based on the Super Megatron body from Battlestars, where he faced off against Star Convoy and others in more pointy G1 combat.

Check out the teaser and text below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

As someone who never watched the Japanese Transformers, what would be a good start for me to watch so I can learn about King Poseidon and Super Megatron. I only know of Overlord because of IDW. And just reading entries on TFWiki ain't the same.

For King Posideon, you'll want to watch Super God Masterforce though it's a fair few episodes before King Posideon is introduced in full. It's also only Turtler who has any autonomy in the show (he never uses his robot mode either) all the rest of the Seacons are drones that are mass produced. None of them use robot modes either.

As for Super Megatron, there is nothing to watch as Battlestars was never animated, with its story told through text and a short Manga. So Tfwiki is your best bet

King Poseidon was in the Super-God Masterforce cartoon, but not so much as an actual character since his limb components were mass-produced mindless drones who never transformed into robot modes and his torso component, Turtler, also never transformed out of turtle mode and had very little personality of his own. Basically, King Poseidon was less of an actual character and more of a living weapon of mass destruction who would show up whenever the Decepticons of that show needed a powerful trump card against the Autobots. Though, Turtler/King Poseidon did have one personality trait: Evil jerk. He relished inflicting pain on his opponents and causing destruction in general.

Super Megatron, however, never appeared in any animated media. The series he originated from, Return of Convoy, was a print-only series whose storyline was told in magazine story pages that were very sparse on actual story content, instead mostly just summarizing specific events in a broad sense. The series did, however, get one chapter of manga, which told a more fleshed out story, but was just basically a simple tale of Super Megatron trying to steal some energy with Star Convoy and the Battlestars fighting him to stop him.

Hoping he's leader scale to with g1/selects star convoy but doubting it. Looking forward to the reveal even if I might skip this figure.

Yes! Yes! YES! I was so afraid this idea was going to be scrapped which is weird coming from someone who skipped Star Convoy but, whatever, I just really dig the Super Megatron design.

The TR Galvatron mold is a Voyager.
