Transformers Kingdom Terrorsaur Revealed

Posted by william-james88 Sep 30, 2021 at 12:28pm CDT 30,216 views
With the fourth day straight of reveals from the Amazon exclusive Golden Disk set, we now see the toy people were most excited about, Terrorsaur. It does indeed happen to be an Airazor retool and it has a fake chest making it look innacurate in alt mode. But at the same time this is not a character that comes around often as a toy. The toy is $22.99 USD. It was posted on Hasbro's Facebook page and here are the place you can order him on Pulse:

I was skeptical about him being an extensive retool of Airazor, and while it looks like he still has a lot of the same problems as Airazor, he still looks fine enough. I'm surprised that they've made the pteranodon head cartoon accurate instead of trying to make it look realistic like the other beast modes in Kingdom, but I'm not too fussed about it.

I wish all the beast modes were cartoon accurate.
It seems for the Dinosaur characters, they went for Cartoon accuracy, Dinobot doesn't have any feathers (which Hasbro did include in a previous Velociraptor Transformers toy). Also, no one knows exactly what Dinosaurs looked like so might as well go with the cartoon.

>:oP told ya so

that being said, he's not as glorious as I would have liked. Personally I think his wings should have been bigger with an extra fold joint so they compact a wee bit more. but given his animation model is considered "impossible to reproduce in toy form" I still think its a good compromise. Also he can breathe fire now. Yay.

We were saying no way because it would still just be a placeholder fig and not something show accurate. Which is exactly what we are getting. They didn't even try with that fake chest which just remains there in alt mode. His alt mode looks like a big pile of ass.

I mean, I'll buy it, but this feels more like Generations Blurr rather than either TR or SS Blurr.

that I actually don't disagree with. well, I don't think he looks like ass, but the beast mode is a more then a bit underwhelming. But again, it's neigh improbable to make a show accurate terrorsaur at this scale without lots of parts forming. with parts just remaining detached for robot mode. I've seen some decent mp scale customs. also with parts that just detach in robot mode.

Comon 3rd party people, show me what you got!

Just got my Amazon preorder in.

The story sounds like it was the original timeline of events set before Kingdom, but then got erased so that the proper events of Kingdom could proceed. These events of preventing the quantum surge would explain why there are no Transmetals in Kingdom's version of the Beast Wars.

Though, Terrorsaur's fall into lava infusing him with lava powers that let him breath fire makes it sound an awful lot like he fell not into lava but into Angolmois Energy. Of course, going by the Japanese timeline, that stuff wasn't hidden on Earth until after the Beast Wars were over, but still.

Decent looking figure. I just don't like that they are making him exclusive. Terrorsaur should be a mainline figure.

I get that people are connected to the designs, but they're extremely dated and ugly CG models.
I'm glad they're based on the real animals.

Not bad. I love the robot mode. Beast mode is a bit inelegant, but what are you going to do?

Hopefully all these sites putting up Wave 4/5 listings means Hasbro's finally about to do the same.

Terrorsaur's finally here, and he's great! The head sculpt looks perfect, there's a good amount of new parts, I can take him not having shoulder guns in exchange for the Golden Disk, and the alt mode looks about as good as it ever would as an Airazor retool. Shame he doesn't also have a blast effect or something considering the bio, but that can be easily rectified given the whole point of Tricranius. This was the first and only one I ordered off Pulse, as I wanted to just use Amazon for all of them but that half-hour delay on the Amazon listing made me paranoid.

Hey, if Megatron falling into lava while carrying an extra spark turned him into a dragon and made him huge, why wouldn't falling into lava during the quantum wave turn Terrorsaur into Rodan?

TF-fan kev777 wrote:Blaster will be a weird one. My guess is that he will be K-36 which would put him at the end of the numbering for regular releases and ahead of the exclusives. But, I find it pretty odd that they would release a Blaster without any cassettes to go with him. Maybe with the possibility of a SG Soundwave, they will revisit the cassette packs in selects or some other means of getting them out.
Leakers have said that Blaster is supposed to come with Eject.

Got my preorder on Pulse within the first minute of it going live about an hour ago. Still kinda lame that they’re still doing the policy of relegating popular and well-known characters as exclusives, been lucky so far about getting everyone I want but still sucks for the less fortunate. :(

Megatron was already Transmetalized. He could withstand the lava. Tarantulas did too when he was tossed into it. Terrorsaur was still in his season 1 pre-Transmetal body when he took his lava dip, which did kill him. The text here says that the lava ought to have killed him here too, but instead protected him and gave him fire breath. That's some magic lava, there. ;)

So, with the exception of a *possible* WFC-K36 Voyager Blaster, pretty much all of Kingdom has been revealed, though some items still have yet to be officially released.

Looking Back at the trilogy overall. Siege had 66 different item numbers, ER 41, and Kingdom 42. So I guess in a 12 month cycle about 40 items (which includes some exclusives) is going to be about the normal? Also, some of these are multi-packs, so the actual number of toys released has some variance as well.

What does anyone think? In a given 12 month cycle are we happy with this format? Are there too many toys? Not enough? (The issue of exclusive vs general release Is a whole other subject I understand).

I'll be honest and say, with each progressive Line I spent less money from 2019-2021. Although I do appreciate that the development quality and effort seems to be going up ever so slightly (QC Issues aside). I guess characters coming out that I actually want is what has contributed the most to my decrease in purchases. Still I will always support verbally (even if not financially), any new figure of a toy that hasn't been released in many years vs one that keeps getting a new toy every year, or every 2-5 years.

Also, several of my purchases this year were to brand new characters, such as the Fossilizes. I love the idea, as with Weaponizers and Modulators, I hope we keep getting more of these in Legacy. Whether they are brand new characters, or reinterpretations of older ones, I think making the Titan's smaller components as well as reimaging Micromaster Stations as these parts forming accessories was brilliant.

My current wish list, I imagine, will be a slow burn to complete, and will rely on Selects, TT Selects, and possibly Haslab to complete, if ever.

Just looking at the total numbers is a bad comparison. Siege numbered things differently on some exclusives. The Rainmakers and Fan Vote 3 pack each has 3 numbers assigned to them and the micrometer 10-pack had 5 numbers assigned (S58-S62). So instead of 66, it was more like 58, still a bit more than the other 2 lines, but also remember Siege stole some figures from Earthrise too.

He is common enough for those that have toys on shelves. I've seen him at at least 2 stores yesterday.

Wait, how does the faux chest make both modes look inaccurate? The purpose of a faux part is to make the mode it’s featured in MORE accurate, sometimes at the expense of the other mode(s), but always as a shortcut to a more difficult (or impossible) engineering process for the conversion, like size, shape, or color shifting of a part between modes, or as a means of avoiding “partsforming.” The faux chest makes Terrorsaur’s robot mode look more accurate, not less. The beast mode is the only part that suffers for it. Yes, it duplicates the “rump” section of the beast mode on the chest, but it’s mostly hidden by how the figure stands in beast mode. At least it’s not a situation like with Maximal Skywarp where he magically has two eagle heads prominently visible in robot mode!

Honestly the faux chest looks fine in beast mode, it doesn't really stand out as a rump. I interpret it as like breast meat (like on a chicken).

Sigh, and this is why I didn't want a deluxe Terrosaur. Was really hoping they would have at least gone the Cheetor/Tigatron route of using a the deluxe engineering as a template for a larger voyager via Airazor (I would have preferred an original mold altogether but Hasbro gonna Hasbro.)Not to mention this means he won't have the shoulder rockets he used in the show. (Terrosaur was never one of my favorites, in fact I thought he was a weaker/less endearing version of Starscream in many respects, but he's still a season 1 character who deserved better than just a retool of a smaller sized Airazor.)I did preorder him of course (better to get it now than regret it later) but still a little disappointed.

Dangit.

Slammer might just be the best weaponizer loadout of the lot. Shoulder cannons, a decent boot, and chainsaw weapon all look good and reasonably likevthey were designed to go on another figure. I didnt want to biy this, nd I skipped Sixgun, but this looks really nice

I totally agree with those who loved weaponizers/modulators/fossilizers, those really were the hightlight of this line.

I think Terrorsaur is pretty good. Could have been better if he had been his own mold, but I guess he's just not popular enough.

Also, the product description on Amazon has the last paragraph of the story duplicated! Does that mean there is an actual last paragraph that is missing?

Immortal Starscream wrote:also just read the full golden disk story on terrorsaur's amazon page. sad ending.

Actually, the ending is sort of brilliant and only really sad for Terrorsaur. Puffer was jetissoned in the pod with everyone else on the Nemesis. Assuming they were successful in preventing the quantum surge, Road Ranger, Jackpot/Sights and mutant Tigratron perish in the explosion, which really doesn't matter because they should just revert to their previous forms before ever being pulled into the vortex. Terrorsaur goes back to being a puddle of lava, Huffer and Pipes are each their original selves again, Jackpot can't transform anymore, Sights is a rifle again and Tigratron is just Tigratron. But since Puffer was jettisoned and survived, we get a new weird character that is a fusion of 2 other existing ones.

Clearly the next step in this story is the wacky adventures of Huffer, Puffer and Pipes.
