Fellow Seibertronian Latyrx7 has shared with us some fairly surprising news at Chinajoy 2016 from Tencent Games, via MMOculture: apparenty, Hasbro has officially licensed an actual MMO for the Transformers, under the name Transformers Online, and we have a demo clip (in Chinese) and the launch trailer. While not much more information has surfaced, it looks as though elements of the Cybertron games and Age of Extinction, and perhaps even Rise of the Dark Spark have made it into this new game. Over at ChinaJoy 2016, Tencent Games dropped a bombshell by revealing Transformers Online, which is based on the official IP under Hasbro. The teaser site was first discovered earlier this week, although no one could really point out what game Tencent was teasing. Over at the exhibition halls of ChinaJoy, a business day attendee managed to record a short gameplay demo video, which can be seen below.

Eh, I'd be interested if it was all movie. Optimus looks great.

Oh and if it wasn't an FPS. Can't stand those. I like to see my character. And know where his/my feet are.

It has Movie Optimus' design; which isn't surprising considering China, but I'll just have to begrudgingly tolerate it. Otherwise it looks pretty cool beans; liking that Megsy design

Looks like just another generic MOBA, but with Transformers. After the Jagex MOBA failed (Transformers Universe) I would have thought they'd go for a real MMO with real customization that people kept asking for.

I wonder why they chose Dead End in particular to be the Engineer/Torbjörn type character? I'd have picked a Constructicon for that role personally. Either way that healing device is neat.

With Optimus, while I can kind of get the reasoning behind using the Age of Extinction design (Age of Extinction was a big hit in China after all) I think it's a shame that the game designers didn't create something new for him.

I did like Transformers Universe from Jagex when I played it, but there were a few problems with it. I wouldn't mind an RPG aspect being included in any kind of Transformers MMO to be entirely honest. So what you said, that's my wish as well. Heck, even an MOBA with more intensive customization ability in terms of parts (arms, legs, head, body, weapons), alt-mode, coloration, and all that would be great. I wouldn't mind something like Fall of Cybertron's customization ability even, but more options basically. Also I would love if the MMO allowed you to choose which team you want to fight for instead of getting swapped every match or every other match too. I feel weird when I have to play as a Autobot.
