It's been known for a while now that Siege Ratchet was going to be a Walgreens exclusive in the USA, but was unclear what that meant for fans elsewhere but this does mean they could show up at other stores. We'll have more news for you as we get it.
Siege Ratchet is a redeco and slight retool of Wave Two Deluxe Class Ironhide. Instead of coming with Ironhide's weapon, he comes with his own unique weapon and has a third mode of sorts where he can fix Micromasters.
You looking to get Ratchet? Does this spell good news for you? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

I hope so, especially since the pre-ordering with Walgreens was bunkum.

Any possibility for the "outsiders" can't get him in USA?

Takara release import?
They did it with POTP Wreckgar, so that's a possibility.

Don't forget Grotusque and Repugnus in a two-pack since Japan did not get these retool initially, being TRU and Amazon exclusives.

Not from walgreens, been that way for years now.

Yep, definitely won't see him in Walgreens until they reset the stores ahead of Christmas. Was that way with Brainstorm, the Clones and Wreck Gar. Most other countries that will be getting him will have him a few months ahead of the US. Robot Kingdom should have them pretty early as well. I remember seriously considering pulling the trigger on the clones from robot Kingdom because of how the tail end of TR was winding down and not wanting to miss them. Glad I waited, as they were everywhere once they showed up. Hell one store by me still has one on the shelf.

We first found out about the 2018 Wreck-Gar in July 2017 and our first look at the figure was finished figure in March 2018 and was in Taiwanese stores in July 2018 (at which point Hasbro still hadn't officially announced him yet), yet we still had to wait until November to buy him. Definitely not coming early.

Among the things discussed...
* Siege has been so popular that Hasbro added a Wave 5 to the line.
* Leader Astrotrain is based directly on the G1 cartoon model sheet with cartoon-accurate colors. Included with him is a weapons box that holds a lot of weapons and becomes a tender for the steam train mode and opens up to become a launch gantry in shuttle mode.
* The launch gantry is indeed compatible with the likes of Omega Supreme, Fortress Maximus, and Titans Return Soundwave.
* Warden calls the two Decepticon Micromasters who combine together in vehicle mode "Duocons"
* Warden acknowledges Rung as the popular IDW character that he is, along with Rumble and Ratbat (yes, this Rumble toy is RIRFIB/FIBRIR)
* The Battle Master next to Spinister is identified as Singe
* Confirms Apeface to be completely backwards-compatible with Titans Return Titan Masters.
* Warden pronounces Orthia's name as "Or-THEE-uh"
* Warden calls Ricon a "brand new truck Transformer", suggesting him to be an all new character despite everyone else in the set being a preexisting character.
* He also pronounces Ricon's name as "Ry-con"
* Omega Supreme is expected to ship in the Fall, contrary to some places listing him as an August release. They wanna make sure that Omega is done right, so he's set for a Fall release, not August.
* Warden says Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime is based on the "Armada series"
* Voyager Thundercracker is said to be in the lighter blue of the cartoon
* Confirms that Soundblaster can hold two tapes inside his chest

Why does this matter? Repacked figures seem to have better chances of getting marked down, like most of the PotP Leaders, PotP Jazz, TR Wolfwire, some Prime Masters, and even Siege Shockwave a few days ago.

Speaking of Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime, I got him at Target today and am having some serious buyer's remorse..

Not the final model it seems. The one TOEI Animation used had purple wings. Takara made the same "mistake" with the Legends deco.
Have to say that the storage-box/launchpad/rails gimmick is pretty cool, but the look of the alt-modes put me off the figure.

I'm just happy that Soundblaster has red optics. My plan since his leak months ago was to switch his with Soundwave's to give Soundwave the cartoon accurate colored eyes, IF they were indeed red instead of yellow. Anyone know how easy it is to pop the light piping plastic out of Soundwave's head? I hope it's not glued in there.

I'm glad I could help. I hope to find this figure out here soon. We don't have Walgreens and the store that's supposed to sell them in Canada doesn't usually get them here. It's weird.

What do you mean? EB Games has had the exclusives and they were very easy to find the past 2 years.

Wreckgar can still be found. Beside, if a toy is unavailable at a E.B store, they can check their system and tell us where it can be found. Then simply call and they'll set it aside. There's E.B Games everywhere.
I love the current E.B Games, who is now a pretty decent geek store. Let's hope Gamestop will not bring E.B Games to the grave with them.
BTW, Entertainment Earth cancelled my order of Gen Select Stepper and Lancer for reasons. I'll have to order them from somewhere else in due time.

"Here" being the west coast, more specifically my area. We're like the tail end of the country and usually we don't get all the exclusives. Never saw the clone pack in the stores.

Be careful everyone - you need to gently pull out his forearms in robot mode until they 'click' but it's easy for the whole forearm to pop off the swivel joint if too much force is applied.
Weaponizers feels like owning Micronauts or Diaclone toys it's just too much fun there's so much versatility.

Yup. Happened to me a zillion times when I was fiddling with him yesterday. He is indeed pretty fantastic though. I somehow spent like an hour messing around with various backpack modes for him with his buddy Full Tilt. Weaponizers are fun even with older figures not designed for the play pattern.Stargrave wrote:Be careful everyone - you need to gently pull out his forearms in robot mode until they 'click' but it's easy for the whole forearm to pop off the swivel joint if too much force is applied.

My wife got to hear my ten minute dissertation on the significance of having Brunt now with Trypticon and why that’s important I had diagrams and everything

Nice job condensing it down to an easily digestible ten minutes.

It will? When, and especially, who will carry the Selects?
For now, I had to buy Ricochet from BBTS because my friend already paid for it. While I was at it, I finally decided to get TR Brainstorm. Now I'll have to hunt G1 Brainstorm to go with the TR one.

I don't see why not. The 35th Anniversary versions of G1 and SS38 Primes will be exclusive to EB Games in Australia, so the same might apply to Canada, with other exclusives as well.

Remember the unkillable Classic Seeker mold?
Well, it's successor is definitely the Siege voyager. I expect that mold to be repainted and retooled for a few years to come.
And I'm glad for it!

Reflector pack: ugh, right after I completed the retail guys. But I really think I will be OK with my retail guys. I can't really justify 2 $60 cameras and basically 6 of the same mold in such a fashion with no real attachment to them.
Impactor 3 Pack: That is the head that should have been on the retail one, that looks much better. Holo Mirage is really cool and I will get him and regular Mirage. Love the Marvel G1 head. Who is Aragon? And what is a Powerdasher?
The previously revealed guys look really good, Astrotrain is my favorite so far.
RUNG!!! That one got me all hyped up. I think the Battlemaster class works out perfectly for him, and he can work with Swerve!
Galactic Man Shockwave is still a pretty easy pass.
Micromasters: I think I'll have to hunt down that set eventually. I like the looks of that pack.
Rainmakers: Really gaudy color schemes, but again I think I'll pick them up. Some new characters for the con shelf, like Redwing hopefully will be.
Kinda funny thinking about getting 5 of that mold but not my favorite seeker or Starscream
