Two grand for a couple bricks ? Good luck getting that much. Im assuming these things dropped right around the time the first Iraq war (Desert Storm) happened. That might explain the "Combat Hero" theme with Patriotic colors for Optimus and a desert camo for Megatron. Just my guess since G2 came out right after the Gulf War.

That color scheme on Op...was this the basis of the color scheme on the RTS G2 Optimus repaint in that Ultimate gift set with the G2 Jazz and two Legends about a year ago? Had even mock-ups of these two been seen before this?

Bricks? Those toy molds are well articulated, having at least 14 points of articulation each, and were considered exceptional in that regard back then.Rated X wrote:Two grand for a couple bricks ?

The Armada Megatron Tank looked better but really was a Mega-brick. G2 Megatron was cool when he came out, the scaled down version was even better with improved articulation...also Mega-boobs!

Felt like linking this from our friends. The figure is IDW based, using Armada Megatron Toy to start with, and really is appropriate as a G2 alternative or concept.
It was G2 that really revitalized me as a fan, the passion simmered until Beast Wars, and it's always been going since.

Those are both great color schemes. I've never been interested in adding these figures to my collection, but if they had been released in those colors, I definitely would.
