Funny man, Anthony Anderson, who plays the computer-geek Glen in Michael Bay's Transformers Movie, was interviewed on camera about by Blackfilm.com about his place in the Transformers movie.

"I am brought in to help decypher this electronic computer language that the Autobots and Decepticons are speaking. Since it is a computer language that no one can seem to decypher, the come to the smart guy".

More Bots. More News. More Awesome.

what? im guessing you saw him in some silly comedy and assume he is a "retard", when in fact he is quite good, as proven in his run in The Shield

Even in some comedies he is really funny, A good physical actor and good presence at times

Agreed, he is a funny guy. He was awesome in Scary Movie 3, could have had a bigger part in 4, and his bit in Malibu's Most Wanted made the film watchable.

If you think he's actually like those "ghetto" type characters he plays every now and then, that just shows how convincing an actor he is.

In the words of Master Thespian: "ACTING!"

Thats going to be a stretch for my imagination.. Anthony Anderson just does not come off as too intelligent in anything I have seen him in.
Dont get me wrong, I quite like him, he has a stage/screen presence, and he is mildly amusing, but I cant really see him playing a genius.

Anthony Anderson has played in a variety of roles...mostly comedy, but some drama as well. In the drama scenes he has done VERY well, and shows just how versatile he can be. I think its an art when you can jump from a serious role into a more comedic role. Kinda like Owen Wilson, from "Behind enemy Lines"...(serious movie) to "Wedding Crashers", "You me and Dupree", "Cars", etc. Bottome line, Anthony Anderson is a GREAT actor.

Thats cuz his character is dumb, but not him. Like someone else said "ACTING" I'm sure he'll have some smartass line in the movie though.

Athony Anderson is not a retard he played some great roles in these movies

I agree he has a good presence though he doesn't fit my image of a code dicypher, though I am sure the director has a reason for choosing him.

I love his work. The Scary movies were off, but that was definately not due to his performances in the. But I really love his character Cofeld in 'Til Death as one of Eddie's friend. And Eddie is of course played by Brad Garrett, who voiced Trypticon in the original series. Don't you just love it how all this Transformers trivia can come together! 8)
