Did any of you wish to attend the Hasbro panel at SDCC? Well, now you can in a way thanks to Seibertron who videotaped the whole thing. You get to hear John Warden talk about th Siege line and see the Cyberverse footage, as if you were there.

We definitely get new tidbits like the combined mode of the micromasters who become targetmasters and we do hear confirmation that scale is a big factor in the Siege line. So this line is a fresh take and bos scale with one another in bot mode, like in the Studio Series line.

This may be a money saving year for me. Siege looks interesting, but I'm not seeing enough to get me excited about it yet. The rest of it has all the appeal of a dental cleaning.

Has anyone explained the meaning of the title "Cyberverse" yet?

There probably isn't supposed to be any actual meaning behind it besides "it sounds cool" and "it's a name Hasbro already owns and can reuse again".

As best can be assumed, it probably just means "a universe with Cybertronians in it".

You sure act like it, Warden, you sure act like it. I'll believe him if the next trilogy after WfC, which starts on the Beast Wars 25th anniversary in 2022, is BW heavy.

....seriously though, why is the line called Generations again? The Prime Wars have been great, don't get me wrong, but I feel I'm starting to forget why they named it that in the first place...

I was born in 1998. My first figures were RID Prowl, Armada Delxue Prime, the RID Build Team, and Armada Powerlinx Cyclonus. The first TF show I saw was assorted episodes of the Unicron Trilogy shows, and my favorite TF show is a close struggle between Beast Wars and Animated. Technically, I'm part of the the next generation of fans, or at least the generation that would need to be introduced to G1. And yet, despite sitting here with Bruticus, Overlord, and Perceptor next to me, I'm already getting tired of Generations being almost exclusively G1, even when a good majority of the figures were characters I'd never owned a version of before, because it feels like it's all the design team wants to make right now.

This. Wholeheartedly. I want to see some new characters or completely new takes and drastic redesigns. Bring on Transtech!

As much as I love core G1 I'm really ready to move on. I'm actually OK with them diving into a pre-G1 story, but they're still just recycling characters again, there's no originality. The current Hasbro team can make nice figures, but they sure can't write an original story worth telling. They need to go back to 1984, not for story inspiration, but to realize it's OK to outsource your stories. Like how the Hasbro of old got Marvel to do all of their writing they need to get IDW to start coming up with something new. It doesn't even have to be non-G1, just move ahead in the continuity already. How about finally filling the gap between G1/G2 and Beast Wars, there's a story there that still hasn't been totally and officially fleshed out and worth telling.
