Video Review for all Wave 1 of Armour Knight Turbo Changer Toys from Transformers: The Last Knight

There has been very little push or information on the Armor Knight Turbo Changers from Transformers: The Last Knight, to the point that we only knew there was a Bumblebee coming out when it was seen in stores.

Fellow Seibertronian Chuckdawg has reviewed all three from the first wave: Grimlock, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. So check out the review below if you are curious about these simpler toys and their mask/helmet gimmick.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:More figures released under the Turbo Changers header, the Knight Armor figures feature spring loaded helmets and very simple transformations. Grimlock is an ok figure with the most interesting helm, while Bumblebee suffers from weak knees. Optimus Prime is the best overall figure with an almost Samurai motif to his helmet.

But he's easily the worst of the new molds in wave 1. Thats like giving the Beatles a shot and first listening to Revolution #9.

I actually returned the toy to walmart under their "dissatisfaction policy".

berserker prime and barricade.

I havent seen any stars yet, they all have major flaws. Prime comes close but that deco is just wrong. I dont need more paint but different paint. And those eyes are so damn weird, he looks like an anime character crying.

And am I the only one to have prime with shoulders that unclip easily?

I doubt it, the only current star for me is grimlock in that sweet deco, but only because I want the mold and don't have it yet.

Other than that, I'm waiting on the double megs' leader one is gonna be a bit weird with the extra long arms and if you orient them so he has functioning elbows and wrists, he's gonna have weird cavities right above them, but he looks so damn nice, and his faceplate 8-)

No

we arent even supposed to know that they exsist

There are lots of things we know, and you know who else knows? Pepperidge Farm!

To be frank, aside from the Masterpieces, all we have are names, nothing else. Not even leaked toy images. My gut says we'll know more by Summer.

Sqweeks looks brilliant and I will have him. Even if he is out of scale with everything and his transformation cheats.

Drift I will probably get as well, for the reasons I've already mentioned several times before.

Picked up Barricade and Optimus.

Optimus is alright. Robot mode looks better in hand than I thought it would, and I like the accessories and how they work with the figure (sword sheath on his back is nice). The backpack is there, but it's low profile. Transformation has a couple of clever bits in the legs. It's an improvement, at least, over my 2007 Movie Voyager and its ridiculous backpack.

Barricade has an even goofier backpack, but the figure has so much charm that I don't care. The accessories are cool, the knuckle dusters are quite amusing, and I love the fact that his legs do a decent impression of actual police boots. I think the overall deco looks great, and his car mode rolls surprisingly well, even with the weapons stored. It's not a great figure on paper, but there is so much personality in the mold that I can easily look past its faults.

Is it just me or does Sqweeks have 4 handlebars?

Not that that's putting me off him. He's so cute and he'll have to be pretty annoying in the movie for me to not buy it.

Yeah, but the 2 that make up his arms seem to be part of some sort of system that allows for the arms to be swapped around, they do need to be removed for transformation, but this way you can customize the figure, actually seem pretty cool to me :-?

Dunno, one of the arms looks pinned down to the work shop, so maybe not, I like that the handlebar arms seem to be able to fold away for vehicle mode, seems like hasbro put a lot of effort into making this figure, am very interested in seeing a video review of this guy

He does look like a charming little figure. I don't know if worth the £23 or so that TLK Deluxes cost here but maybe. Certainly more appealing once they start appearing in money-off sales.

Sqweeks looks so different and is really different from pretty much every other movie figure we have ever gotten, which is really cool! I like it, and he is the only deluxe from wave 2 I want, so I'm super excited that he looks this good and they put this love into him

See, this is the sort of thing I want them to do more with their size classes - have a character be smaller than the size class would suggest, but give them a big trailer or something to make up that price. I think it'd be awesome if the Leader Class in Generations was used for Optimus or Rodimus with trailers, for example. This sort of thing sets good precedent imo and it's awesome to see them going for this :)

Saw the deluxes today in Tesco. Really not worth the £21 they were asking. Maybe 15, sure. But not £21.

As you might recall, we mentioned back a few days ago that Singapore would be hosting a Midnight Madness event where many Transformer related prizes would be handed out. Seibertronian Freaky777 was present at the event and managed to win a limited edition Battle Damaged Bumblebee figure! Bee uses the Age of Extinction mold that is also used for the Hasbro Wave 1 Bumblebee figure, but with extensive paint apps designed to evoke battle damage. You can check out the pictures that Freaky777 sent us and let us know if you were able to snag something from the event!
