Video Review for Transformers Generations Legends Shockwave

ChuckDawg1999 has something nice and special for us, a review of the most anticipated Generations Legends figure: Shockwave. Enjoy!

chuckdawg1999 wrote:It's a shame that Shockwave is technically a 2016 figure, because it could easily be a contender for best figure of 2015! Gun mode pegs together solidly without partsforming, while maintaining a classic Shockwave look in robot mode. While conceived for Bruticus Shockwave works well with most deluxe or larger figures.

DeathReviews wrote:Death can be impatient! But no need for it this time - HasbroToyShop says they've shipped the Legends figures (Shockwave, Chopshop & Buzzsaw) that were ordered yesterday. That means they could well arrive before BBTS gets the Combaticon voyager figures which Death has ordered.

It's not often that HTS beats BBTS to the punch. Good on them...

It actually happens more frequently than you realize.

You can do it from two points, the thigh and the generously hip joint.

You could probably snip that trigger guard (?) off in Shockwave's weapon mode and still retain his functionality. Can't say for certain, though, not until I get mine in-hand and I've fiddled with him some, and that won't be until next weekend it seems.

Thanks Chuck! Very excited for this one. You must have hit that express shipping, eh?

Hey Mindmaster, got that ETA on delivery yet? I just checked and mine is slated for Wednesday. As per usual, I won't be in town to play when Shocky and friend show up. :(

According to my tracker page, they won't be here until 10 December, but based on previous experiences, it might be earlier than that. Don't know, we'll see.

I got my notification BBTS has the legends wave in stock. Now, just waiting on Onslaught. (Might wait on Unite Warriors figs too, but I go on vacation in two weeks...)

Don't forget his Masterpiece toy is also coming.

2016 is the year of Shockwave.

It's a trigger guard for smaller figures but a handle for the combiners. To remove that piece of plastic, removes some functionality from the toy. It's also molded into the whole back-hinge unit so I wouldn't recommend removing it.

I'd imagine we could sand it down on the back of the trigger guard to make it more accomodating to larger hands (like CW leader megs) but until we know exaclty how he fits onto onslaught in vehicle mode and the back of bruticus we don't know if that's a bad idea. it might neuter certain gimmicks.

Hey folks two things:

1) Voyager and Leader figures might have a problem holding the gun mode due to their larger hands, unfortunately this means Leader Megatron.

2) The handle for gun mode folds flush down the back. I must've not noticed this in the instructions since it comes folded up in package. There's a nice grove molded in to hold it and helps lock the back/head in place.

Ya know what's sad? I ordered Devy from HTS's Ebay store on Tuesday and it arrived to my parents on Friday. I ordered Megatronus, Underbite and Shockwave Wednesday and they have yet to ship.... :BOT:

They may ship from two different locations through two different companies (depending on who holds the tf figures - ebay store or hts warehouse...) But I feel your pain

The last of Combiner Wars is here, as the line seems to transition into Titans Return - but some of the bridging figures are already out - and fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 has a video review of the Legend class triple-changing (!) Buzzsaw to offer. Check it out below!

Although the Titans Return line is over a year away, Hasbro is giving us a taste by releasing Buzzsaw, the minion of a character who's toy has yet to be announced. Which if made, will be released closer to a year and a half from now. Surprisingly, Buzzsaw is a triple changer with involved transformation steps between each mode, the highlight being the "Vehicle" mode that has a peg which allows Titan Masters to ride.

Pass. It's 'bird' mode which should be it's main form given the character, is just so horrendously designed. The original G1 figure looks better.

Buzzsaw is greatly executed. He looks really cool and he forms a titan masters skateboard. Pretty neat! :BOT:
