Video Review of Transformers Tribute Bumblebee 3 Pack

Posted by william-james88 Oct 2, 2017 at 8:51pm CDT 25,599 views
Fellow Seibertronian Maverick Prime has just told us that a video review is now up for the Movie Bumblebee Tribute 3 pack. The video review is by Chefatron who compares each toy to their original. It is here that we see how few differences there are on some of them.

Let us know if the lack of differences still warrants double dipping.

Despite my general disdain for Bumblebee figure saturation, I admit to having several of them. I missed out on Classic Deluxe Bumblebee, which is still arguably the best. Until they put out "The Legacy of Bumblebee" 3-pack at Walmart. It contained TFA Deluxe Bumblebee, a repainted Classics BBee, and ROTF Deluxe BBee with a better paint job.

Sure, they were all Bumblebee. But at least that pack had some real variety to it. This new 3 pack is just 3 'different' Bayverse versions.

I felt kind of bummed out on the changes made to the set. TLK Bee would go well as an altmode display for his smokey gray windows, but only if there wouldn't be any feet issues with the retail one (which will forever have the cannon). While I like the look of the normal High Octane Bumblebee, I guess this one will have to do since I missed out on the AOE version. I think that there needs to be the paint apps like the Movie Advanced version to justify it being different enough. And as for the 07 Deluxe, I guess it's neat to have it for nostalgia sake (and for the vintage feel of the garage box set), but it looks off next to the other Deluxes at least in robot mode. The removal of paint apps like the scorches is kind of lame on Hasbro's part, and while I hated the black paint (and the head sculpt) of that Bumblebee, the silver paint doesn't do much favors in improving it either.

All in all, I'll still get the set, but not for the asking price that Hasbro would go for. If I get it at a discount (depends on where I get it), then I will pick it up.

Probably going to try and snag this set to custom paint the Evasion and TLK Bee, then have an extra copy of each to keep unchanged. I don't have that first movie Bee yet, but I'm not a huge fan of the bot mode so I'll probably transform him a few times and keep him in car mode for display.

Really hope we get an updated toy for that car mode at some point.

I largely prefer this version than the anime acurrate one.
Because it's precisely anime accurate from an old anime without imagination and plain designs when they were not based on toys.

I'll get Potp prime, but for the combined form, not for Orion.

I even hesitate to wait in case there's a retool in the line with another design for the small figure.

I was a little interested until I saw the review. Why did they make the Evasion Bee that glaring yellow? The gold looks so much better. The cars looked decent, but then I saw the robot modes and I remembered why I didn't want Evasion Bee the first go 'round. Looks great as a car, looks awful as a bot. I like my DOTM Cyberfire Bee and Leader Bee just fine and I don't need another movie Bee right now. I'm still waitin' for Cogman and Dragonstorm. The local TRU has cleared out all TLK deluxes they had, so I'm hopin' to see the next wave here soon.

Yeah... I'd be into it at $40-45, maybe $50, but @60 is way too much for (in my case) only one new mold and 3 figures I mostly want to paint. I'll wait and hope the price drops after a while.

I'm not hacked off about the price, just that they put the 1976 Chevy as a 1977.

The world doesnt need more bumblebees. I never understood why they dont fill up any bumblebee molds with blue or green plastic and show Glyph or Tap Out some love. But I must admit, I like the package design with the garage concept. Not enough to buy it, but cool neverless...

When the hell is that TLK Bee gonna be here in UK? I'm getting really tired of waiting. Are those ebay listings based in Taiwan legit? Cos if so I might get Bee & Cogman together (when my income issues are sorted)

Didn't you get the memo? Kids love Bumblebee.

(although I don't know any kid that loves him enough to buy 3 toys of the exact same Bumblebee in a single pack)

Greetings, fellow Seibertronians! While the Transformers Tribute line has not seen much action, well, ever (numbering a grand total of three releases so far), that doesn't mean it isn't still around!

For those not familiar with the line, it uses existing molds from different Transformers toylines, redecoed and/or lightly retooled into representations of movieverse characters. In the case of movie Optimus, the molds used were WFC Optimus and Titans Return Kup (with a new Titan Master and deco). In the case of the line's Bumblebee 3-pack, it took Bee's original 2007 Camaro toy, his Age of Extinction "High Octane" mold, and the super-scarce-at-retail The Last Knight Camaro mold, all slightly redecoed. The only other release so far was a deco of the 2007 movie Leader Optimus Prime mold.

While these were Amazon online exclusives, it seems that at least one of the sets is making its way to retail discount stores in the U.S., as well. While perusing the shelves at TJMaxx in West Bountiful, Utah, this evening, yours truly was slightly shocked to find two of the Bumblebee Evolution 3-packs on the shelf, and at a very low price of $19.99, or about the price of a single figure! Photo proof is included below.

Have you found any rarely or newly sighted figures that haven't been the subject of a news article? Please email us and let us know, and happy hunting!

I regret having missed on the black one...

Let's see if that 3 pack will randomly pop in locally.
