Voyager Optimus Prime and Starscream from Transformers Studio Series Found at US Retail

With the April release date of the Studio Series coming up, it only makes sene that we would start getting some sightings trickling in before that. A friend to the site, Phil, has found the wave 1 voyagers at retail. That includes Optimus Prime and Starscream. These were found at Dillons, a grocery chain belonging to Kroger's. The latest Transformers toys have been appearing at grocery chains lately, which was the case with the wave 1 deluxes in this same line, along with POTP wave 2 Prime Masters. This makes the US the first country to get these toys.

They were priced at 36.99, which is a heavy mark up but customary to any Dillons shopper. Phil even sent us price tags for other figures just to give fans an idea at the prices this store has and calm any fear that the mark up would be wide spread.

Derby Dillons Marketplace strikes again. Studio Voyagers Wave 1, spotted this morning. Also I guess there was some discussion on the post about the Deluxes as to whether the price was indicative of a hike from Hasbro. I don’t think that’s the case, that’s just how Dillons is pricing at the moment. Including some photos of other higher priced figures there, and not just Hasbro ones.

25 bucks for a deluxe and 37 for a voyager? Yeah. I'm getting none of these.

I always wanted to pay a Voyager's price for a Deluxe. Especially when it's an unpainted Bumblebee. :HEADHURTS:

These are just the hiked-up prices of the store. At normal retail they'll be the same price as the TLK stuff, $20 for deluxes and $30 for voyagers.

With these side by side, it strikes me as funny how much wasted space went into TLK boxes.

Having seen how Stinger transforms I absolutely need him now. The way the roof forms the arm cannon/blade/stinger/croissant of violence is awesome.

I’m not sure f to the classier deco or the more space efficient boxes, but these SS packages really give it a more premium vibe.
The TLK ones seem so...... toyish in retrospect.

So they're breaking the 4:20 4/20 street date, too? I'll reserve my excitement for when they show up at a major retailer like Walmart or Target, they'll likely stick to the date.

This Starscream figure is amazingly good. Very solid, everything fits together nice. I'd say it's second only to the leader class figure.

Just picked one up at my local meijer, he is sooooooo sublime =P~

I'm somehow enthralled by a movie starscream all over again, haven't gotten one since the incredible leader class one, but, damn, this figure really steps it up a notch :shock:

And, can I just say, that, he's got arm joints for days, jobby is gonna have a field day going through them all :lol:

Having origami-ed starscream into vehicle mode and back again, I can safely say that he is a must-buy for the line, man, what a figure. This line is shaping up to be one heck of a send-off for the movie-figures :-(
