This made me chuckle, it seems Walmart is well aware of which Tansformers are hotter than others. Walmart released a catalogue in Canada and the page featuring Transformers has the 2 brand new molds Cosmos and Override. While Override has been rather easy to obtain, Cosmos has been a hassle for many Canadians (though the online preorders did pull through) so it definitely adds some salt to the wound to have them promoting a toy that is hard to find. Of course, it could all be a coincidence. Fans of mistransformed shots will love this one of Override. Lastly, while the page shows discount on several toys, the Transformers are not marked down. Not that they need to, Cosmos is selling quite well at 35.97$ CAD plus taxes.

As we learn yesterday, while Hasbro can advise Walmart on case distribution, Walmart has the final say. Which in turn just makes it odd that they promote a toy that they themselves shortpacked. It could of course just be a coincidence since Walmart is huge and the person making the catalogue probably has 0 knowledge of the case assortment or the distribution issues.

I never, ever saw Override in stores, nor Scourge. Same thing on Walmart.ca. Both were instantly sold out before I ever had the chance to preorder.

At least I got Cosmos. The pinned shoulders was a very bad design choice.

I like how, aside from the glaring mistransformations, they also seemed to refuse to have them hold their guns like normal guns. For Road Rocket they just left the blades off to the side instead of even trying to figure out where it goes! :lol:

Look at the Disc Weapon from Road Rocket, I *think* they were trying to make it look like he launched it like a catapult, whixh wouldn't make much sense for a Disc weapon except thats how the Rotor Force weapons were launched in G2. It just looks bad without and contextualizing.

Override is just melting it looks like.

I do the same. It looks nice and it's a way to have an "overkill" bot. 8-)

Wait... Now that I've properly seen the picture, WTF am I looking at?

What I do is both hands tuck away, claw on the right, nozzle on the left, and the gun use the side-peg and plug on the left forearm along the nozzle.
What the photographer did here is a mess.

Also, poor Override, not even bothering finishing transforming him. #-o

Yeah, I didn't want to play the waiting game with Walgreens, so she was the priority. Crasher is a must-get, but can wait - still not even sure what I want to do about Shadowstrip.

Snapped up Crasher and Shadowstrip yesterday at K-Mart, hopefully can bust them out this weekend. Never got the Mirage mold so Crasher is a new mold for me.

I sold my Kingdom Mirage, so Crasher will be the only version of that particular mold I will have too. She'll go well with Road Ranger and Bug Bite I think

After getting, unboxing, and transforming Override, I find that HE's an awesome transformers... But the fact that he's voyager priced piss me off to no end. Contrary to SS86 Hotrod, NOTHING here scream "extra parts" or "high engineering". It's also the same size overall as your standard deluxe.

Override is a DELUXE sold at voyager price.
Sigh...
The prices increases are getting ridiculous. #-o

Ironic that you word it that way, since Deluxes were huge back in the original Cybertron line, and this new Override is also the same height as the original.

Everything has shrunk since 2005/2006, yet Override being a Voyager restores the character to its original toy's size.

Well, that's exactly my point.
Back in the days when I was first collecting (12 years ago!), deluxes were 15$CAN.
Now the "same" deluxe is 45$CAN.

That's basically a price increase of over 200%. :shock:

Wait a minute, I thought size wasn't a factor in scaling but the complexity in engineering? At least that's the argument I kept hearing to explain why a smaller bot was in a higher price point.

It's a combination of those two plus parts count. Some figures have mixes of all three, some skew towards one direction specifically, which is how you have "normal sized Voyagers" in the same price point as figures like SS86 Hot Rod, Kingdom Primal, etc.

I'm assuming some of the price is also to account for the fact that Takara pulled an entirely new mold out of their ass using the budget of a retool.

That's kinda like most of these Crossover toys, but without the extra layer of another IP's licence. Not as egregious a these, but a bit infuriating nonetheless.

My local walvart had a couple Overrides the other day and I alllllmost grabbed one, just out of shear nostalgia for Cybertron/Galaxy Force, even tho I never had her myself :-?

So I got Shadowstrip and Crasher in from Pulse.

Shadowstrip is real nice in terms of paint, and I like the mold a lot, so I think he will remain as an individual. I am not really inclined to get any other G2 Stunticons unless they do Breakdown. I will say his waist will not secure properly though, so his 2 halves don't like to stay together. But he's nice, but not as tight quality wise as the G1 colored one.

As for Crasher, she is a mixed bag. She is nicely painted, but her alt mode is sort of torqued so she won't set on all 4 wheels, and her feet have an issue somewhere, the front of the racecar mode will not let her feet rest flat. She isn't bad, but I am not a fan of the Kingdom Mirage mold, and she did little to change my mind.

Who said "to hell with this" and broke down buying him else where and perhaps spending extra...? Luckily for me this figure was a total pass for me but do you continue to hold out until sighted on the pegs? :VEHI:

I don't expect to ever find him in store at this point, not unless they do a reorder and possibly up his case count. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact I won't be getting Cosmos until it's reissued in the main line later on down the road. I refuse to pay $45+ for a $24 at best figure because as it is I feel they're a bit too high priced anyway.

Luckily my preorder for Elita-1 got a price reduction just before it shipped to $18 and change so it makes up for some other higher priced bots I paid full price for and regretted it.

I love the look of this Cosmos figure and I am holding out hope I find one in store. Or at least online at stock price. I'm not going to pay scalper prices.

He looks great, I have him as well. I do think he looks much better with the original Scourge, but mainly because I have a low opinion of Velocitron Black Convoy.

I got my Galaxy Shuttle tonight. He is sharp in hand. I love how he looks, and that head sculpt is really smart looking.

He arrived just in time too, since Star Saber will be shipping out soon
