A Core Beast Machines Cheetor is very random.

these pre-war packs are pretty neat too

Welp, looks like the guy predicting that other character would be remolded into Tigerhawk was right.

Core BM Cheetor IS an odd choice though. Guess someone felt he needed to have a version in every size class imaginable. Maybe they'll keep Beast Machines tradition alive and make all the other characters, but in completely incorrect scales for each other (I'm guessing deluxe Primal, voyager Blackarachnia, leader Nightscream, and commander Rattrap, with a core class Tankor thrown in for a sole villain).

Excited to see how the voyager BW Silverbolt turns out, I never had one as a kid.

My bad, I was misremembering a quote from earlier in the thread, they were actually predicting Tigerhawk would be remolded into a different character.

I saw the leak rumor about Thundertron first, so must have just got it mixed up.

Thundertron and Tigerhawk won't be sharing the same mold.

I'm curious why Silverbolt is a voyager? Considering the original was a deluxe and he wasn't exactly a massive character in the show? :-?

It's like it's 2021 all over again: size class does not equal height. My guess is it's going to go into the engineering, and both modes should have a sizeable wingspan. Whether he'll justify the voyager class price for fans is an open question, but I'm not surprised by the class in any event.

Given his wingspan, I was hoping for a voyager

Height and mass for a medium sized character didn't necessitate a class change. He also isn't exactly an intricate figure/design in either mode. That needed extra size to be "fixed".

Image

The wingspan wasn't a source of complaint for the deluxe figure. Only that there should have been a hinge to pivot the angle of the back kibble in bot mode.

Maybe, maybe not. Why not wait to actually see the figure and decide if it's in the wrong class?

I didn't say it was the "wrong class", like a child/fanboy. I queried why there was an upscale?

I didn't call you a child or a fanboy, and I already said I don't know why it went up a size class. There are multiple generations figures who have changed class recently without being any taller, and it's generally reflected in the part count and engineering. Without seeing the figure, like I said before, I couldn't tell you if it was a good decision or not. But I think it's silly to automatically challenge it as undeserved when we haven't seen the toy yet.

I have always considered Silverbolt a larger character, and I had always hoped he'd get a voyager grade toy.

For one thing, beast wars deluxes are not modern deluxes in any capacity, and to me compared to the recent beasts it feels small.

Some comparison pics. He is kneeling to be about the same height as Blackarachnia (deluxe), and he's about a head shorter than TM Megatron, who is of comparable height to his OG body, which got a Leader toy. And I would think Quickstrike would be a Cliffjumper-esque deluxe, so the scale would be good there too.

So voyager should fit him perfectly.

Also, I hope that a Windrazor repaint is in the cards for him. I hold a special place in my heart for him/them, and that is a character that also feels like it deserves a voyager size, given how he/they were formed.

^ Megatron was crouching for the "selfie", if you recall.

This is a more accurate depiction of his height. He is roughly as tall as Primal.

Hence the query. How to put this? His design was basic and simple. Four limbs, representing the same four Beast limbs. His crotch flap covers the bot body in Beast Mode. Beast head over bot head etc His design could easily be replicated in a core class figure. So parts count would be minimal. Similarly engineering isn't too dissimilar from other four legged Beast Bots.

You can't really go off their toy sizes, at least not the first season characters. Blackarachnia was one of the smallest characters on the show, roughly the same height as Rattrap, but her toy was like twice Rattrap's toy height. Meanwhile, Terrorsaur was one of the taller Predacons, but had the smallest toy of all of them.

Image

Silverbolt in the show was slightly shorter than Transmetal Primal, which makes sense as a large deluxe or a short voyager, since Primal got slightly bigger when he was upgraded and Transmetal Megatron is still roughly leader size.

Image

Interestingly, Transmetal 2 Dinobot should also be leader class at that scale, and everyone bigger than that probably makes more sense at commander, which is kind of nuts.

Since MP Blackarachnia has already been released. I hope this is addressed with MP Rattrap.

One of the reasons it is highly doubtful the TM line will appear in the Masterpiece collection.
I don't think I ever noticed that TM2 Blackarachnia was still that small :???:

Yep, her toy was the equivalent of a voyager today (think it was called mega class at the time?), so a lot of people misremember her getting huge in the show, but she was still the same height.

With the number of parts she has, TM Blackie would be sold as a LEADER if reissued today.

That odd Deluxe G1 Optimus being a Wave 4 release makes it even more strange, considering that implies it's a retool like Slipstream likely is (unless Quake isn't a new mold?).

Even funnier when you consider:

1) 2024 wave 1 leader Prime is rumored to be a new mold, of what Prime no one is really sure
2) Bulkhead was supposed to be retooled into an Optimus Prime, but that hasn't happened yet
3) I'm not sure there is a good mold for an Optimus to be retooled from at the deluxe price.

Unless.....hear me out.....
