I thought we were talking about this:http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TAK10603&mode=retail, not the Masterpiece Megatron.

Psychout wrote:The thread title said otherwise. My bad.
Besides, the commotion that this is causing with all the complaints makes it probable that any version of him in the USofGuns will need a dutch-cap soon.

I didn't stop to realize that both Megatrons are #06 in their series. I think we were talking about TFC #06 and somewhere in the mix it changed to MP-06, however by doing so it raises another interesting question.
Was TFC #06 sold at BBTS with an orange cap prior to this whole mess or was that a retroactive thing they did to be consistant on their stance in the wake of the decision to cap MP-06? I never noticed it before because I did not buy my Takara re-issue through them. I only noticed it about a week ago when I was looking for a different Takara re-issue.
muswp1 wrote:Actually they're not. Masterpiece Megatron should be MP-05. Unless there was another Masterpiece issue between Prime w/Trailer and Megs. The only site I've seen that putting orange tips on TFC-06 Megatron is BBTS.

(Insert sarcasm here) The orange tip accentuates his colors.

Don't give them ANY money for this bastardization of an awesome toy. Ebay, tfsource.com, and robotkingdom are much much better choices.

no I realize that, whole heartedly, but ontop of how crazy this cap business is where they flip flopped (first saying they won't carry the item at all, because that would mean modifying it, and then saying they will carry it but modify it, and scaring alot of places like jrs toyworld into following suit or not even taking orders) I've been less than satisfactory with some purchases made with them. I've had excellent service from them in general, but, Tfsource has been better for me by alot as of late (including having the ehobby black ths-02 convoy almost $15 cheaper than bbts)Seibertron wrote:Head Shot wrote:I have lost all respect for BBTS, don't get me wrong they are playing it safe, but christ this rampant conservatism is really beginning to piss me off.

Um, BBTS is complying with the LAW. They're a business that's trying to make money. Just because they put an orange cap in a toy to abide by the laws which govern those of us who live in the United States, doesn't make them a bad company, though you are most certainly entitled to your opinion.
I'm sorry if I have missed it posted somewhere else, but what places are selling an unmodified mp megs? Just about every place I have checked has the disclaimer of "due to American laws etc...", and I do not want to pay $100+ for an opened product.Head Shot wrote:no I realize that, whole heartedly, but ontop of how crazy this cap business is where they flip flopped (first saying they won't carry the item at all, because that would mean modifying it, and then saying they will carry it but modify it, and scaring alot of places like jrs toyworld into following suit or not even taking orders) I've been less than satisfactory with some purchases made with them. don't get me wrong, I'd still reccomend them as a store if anyone asks, just not in this instance with the caps, because there are plenty of places to grab an unmodified megatron reissue, and theres always ebay and a few online shops for the masterpiece unmoddified.
I don't know any names off hand, but tfsource at one point had preorders for the unmoddified megs, however they filled up rather fast once place slike jrs either canceled their orders completely or places followed suit with bigbadtoystore's orange cap thing.buddha-con wrote:I'm sorry if I have missed it posted somewhere else, but what places are selling an unmodified mp megs? again, if they're capping it to play it safe, its not gonna be easy to remove, they even state on their site that the toy gun law requires a PERMANENT cap, meaning it wont be easy at all to simply remove. I think I already told you this in a different thread...NightFall wrote:Well, I don't hate BBTS, I brought one from them because I really want one just in case all else fails. I heard BBTS is going to make it easy to remove it anyway? Either way I'm getting one.
CapturePrey.com is in the U.S and they're shipping unmodiffied too, so I hope I get both from them and BBTS. I'll take pictures, so all of you get to see if it's worth it in the end.
