You act like those of us who buy these things live in some version of a Lady Gaga song, riding around in a limo, spilling more booze than we actually drink.

Look, the truth is...

that is very, very true.

But more to the point, why do you care about how much those toys cost if you...well, don't care for those toys?

Well my original question was how is the clear plastic justified in the storyline ???

The price issue was just a side question. We could mold the figures in candy paint or bowling ball patterns like the chevy impalas in rap videos. That would probally look cool too. But where do we draw the line when it comes to "purpose" ???

why does it need a purpose? We're TOY collectors, isn't it just supposed to be fun?

What's this "We" stuff?

You drew your own line. You know what you want and thus you don't have to buy the things you don't want.

But as for those of us who have yet to draw a line in the sand, we don't need you to define what is and isn't a waste of money for us.

The existence of these toys doesn't take anything from you. Why do we need a group decision on when to collectively put our foot down? I personally think that half the crap on the shelves right now is just that...crap. But my personal opinion on the matter shouldn't ruin a kid's fun with Voyager Optimus repaint #89, nor should it take away a parent's choice to buy a more simple, easy to transform toy (Fast Action Battler).

The point becomes, why are you so distraught over toys? Just enjoy them/what you have.

Ahhhhh!!! Well I feel better now, how 'bout you?

And for the record, not a big fan of the fallen figure anyways and I like this even less. I remember when Wonderfest items were cool.

After the movie in 2007 I pulled out my childhood G1 collection out of the closet and started collecting again. So many things have changed as I just dont remember any character getting more than one toy with the exception of targetmaster and powermaster upgrades. Now we have Leader, Voyager, Deluxe, FAB, Human alliance, etc.

And then we have my personal favorite: exclusives (LOL)

Im not sure who started the whole exclusives craze in the 90's back in Japan. Some of them look pretty cool. Some of them are kind of annoying for various reasons. Sometimes because of the price. And sometimes for the silly gimmicks people will come up with to make money. Im not trying to offend anyone who likes some of these gimmicks. But for me personally, If they intend to come up with a gimmick that prices 100 bucks for something brand spankin new, they need to come harder...

Understood, me personally, I got back into collecting around the R.I.D. stage(if you don't have any R.I.D. you should look into it, especially Megatron.) Things have changed a lot since back when we were kids, some for the better, some not. I mean, look at Masterpiece, that line is pure awesome, and looking back on what I had as a kid, I never would have imagined such,. The point is, yes things have changed, yes prices are different. But we're not the kids we used to be relying on what we got for christmas and how much money we saved raking lawns. We have different incomes, different preferences and different reasons for collecting now. So just enjoy it, that's what it's all about, having fun. If something doesn't strike your fancy, leave it be. Something that is trash to you may be a jewel to somebody else and vice versa. Just reclaim your childhood, because that's really what this is all about.(at least to me.)
