This could be my most ambitious project. TO MAKE MYSELF!

But how to proceed so it will not be overly complex or expensive to do? The robot mode could look like anything, as long as it's rad looking and is fairly humanoid in shape. Also, his Snow-Plow convert to his sheild and some other part convert to his axe.
And the most important is the vehicle mode, a motor-grader with snow-plow. the vehicle mode should be perfect looking. Just look at my signature and you'll get the idea of what I want to do.

I could start with a 1:50 KOMATSU GD 655 MOTOR GRADER model... but these things cost more than 80$ apiece! A model kit would be perfect, but they are expensive too. And how about joints? Can it be made uniquely out of metal? How to make all the panels fit together seamlesly and solidly?

I also don't want to use any Transformers parts, if possible.

Help?

Well, unfortunately I don't have any personal experience with building or customizing TFs... but I can say this. Buy the model for the final project, but DON'T touch it until you know exactly what you're doing. In the meantime, you can go on eBay and buy some lots of junk transformers for something to practice on until you get a feel for how you want things to go. It'd be a real shame if you spent $80 on a model and broke it after five minutes :\

ok, first off, this belongs in "Transtopia Discussion" I believe.
Secondly, It's VERY Complicated. I recomend getting a easy to snap together model of your vahicle mode in mind, then re shelling another transformer. you yourself said "Preferably without using transformers parts"? well, you want humanoid, so...how about morphing together a tractor model with an R.E.V Figure? They are humanoid, super posable, have alot of snapon points and parts and such, and they all fold up into compacted forms. That's the base figure Id'e Recomend. Of course, you DID kinda digibash a picture of a gladiator weilding an axe into a transformer, sooo, in order to re-create that, you'll need lots of time, and money to boot.

I was thinking... I could use these infamous KRE-O construction kit? They did Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sentinel Prime... This would look like a lego kit, but at least it could be good practice. And maybe it could be possible to "smooth out" the Kre-O kit so it could look like the real deal...

From the reviews, it seem they are not transformable.

I could always do like I did with Geewun-Brix and use Lego Bionicle piece instead. Could I attach some panels to a Bionicle frame to make a convincing looking TF? This would defenitely have a movieverse look.
