Well, my pics look no where near as good as Jokers', but here they are anyway!

There wasn't exactly much in the way of good combiners between 2005 and 2012. With Combiner Wars still years away, all we had were the Transformers Energon combiners. While they look impressive standing around, closer inspection of them reveals that they aren't really the greatest of toys. Myself, I still get enjoyment out of my Revenge of The Fallen Superion, mostly because I never got the chance to own a Combiner Wars Superion, but that's beside the point. He's a decent(hah) stand-in for the Aerialbots!

Even MP Shockwave (who is totally awesome) has taken a back seat to this badass.

Neat. I'd always wanted to get into that line, but they were so expensive, and I had other things I wanted too that were more immediately available.

Yeah. I cherry picked from the line only the characters i wanted. Matty collector was a weird system to follow. If you were online between the hours of 9 and 10 am once a month when that months figures were released you were able to buy that figure without dealing with their subscription non sense. If you were'nt on the ball you'd totally miss out and the scalpers would buy them all to later sell on Ebay at scalper prices. If you waited for that exact moment as the figure became available you would only get it at the Online price. An hour later they'd all be sold out.
A total hassle. I bought half my MOTUC figures on Ebay at premium prices. I Hope if Hasbro chooses to do a collectors club they don't do what Matty did. Total gong show.
If you were'nt a subscriber than every figure you wanted and didn't buy at the exact hour it bacame available online than all the scalpers would buy them and they bacame "chase" figures because you then had buy them auction style via Ebay or Amazon.

ANYHOW........just hope hasbro don't go that route.
