Same with Spielberg. Otherwise, I doubt that they would have done the movie in the first place if they didn't like Transformers to some degree.
That's why what we see on screen bears so little resemblance to what we all remember, the people making the films had no 'fond memories' to work from.

Oh, I know. Even though DOTM was an improvement over ROTF, it still lacked the sort of depth and personality a transformers movie should have. I became a fan when a was just a wee Fox. Transformers Armada was the one that hooked me. Instantly fell in love with it. Before the movie came out, I was almost bursting at the seems remembering all of the characters and my fondest memories of them. That's what Michael Bay is lacking. That feeling.
Since then of course, I've taken it upon myself to watch G1 and a few other incarnations of Transformers. I have to say. Transformers Prime is pretty fantastic in my opinion.
Psychout wrote:Heh, I was 9 in 1984 so was there from the start and have seen the many iterations of the franchise (If you haven't already, watch Beast Wars. Radically different, but incredibly well done), the movies are not it's finest moment, but far from its worst. As for the best bits, I would go as far as to say that, even taking my GEEWUUNism into account, Prime is pretty much the best thing to have happened to the franchise since its launch, The cartoon and toys are brilliant and then there is the tie-in to WfC and the upcoming Fall of Cybertron. And the MMO... in fact, apart from Bay being involved in movie 4 (WHY DO YOU HATE US SO MUCH HASBRO??!), now is a pretty damn good time to be a transformers fan.

I agree on the note of Transformers: Prime, it has the guts that the other shows lacked.
I watched Armada... I couldn't watch it after the times changed... But alas! Everyone wants to see where the Starscream/Human relationship would go.

Yeah, did really like how they explored that a little. Starscream, to my knowledge, is the first decepticon to actually have a positive relationship with a human. It was pretty novel. I'd kind of like to see something like that explored a little more in maybe another Transformers series.
Wreck 'n Rule wrote:Okay sorry to interrupt the movie discussion (most of which I agree with), but I got a little question. How much time do I need to wait before one of my characters can get out of the CR chamber?
Warpath I don't have a problem; he went in just after Hardhead and was just as bad, if not slightly worse shape, so he won't come out until right after Hardhead. But Saferoute wasn't in as bad a shape as either and she went in right after them; has enough time passed and I let her out on my next post (either tonight or tomorrow morning), or should I wait a little longer?

Wow, six? That's hilarious. Still, I am curious on how Transformers 4 will pan out. Maybe some people can learn from their mistakes?

Michael Bay is still directing so I'd say that's probably a no.

Welcome to Seiberton! It's nice to see another newbie like myself join the ranks. If you need any advice on anything, feel free to ask. Oh and as Baneblade said, we're nuts.

Wow. That hurt not doing all of the Capitalization and Punctuation...
Anyway, I was wondering, are you guys part of Star Trek Online yet? I got a Shuttlecraft and named it the Cosmos, after the Green Minibot with the same name.
