Hmmmmm.carytheone wrote:Kurona wrote:I wonder if anyone expected to walk into this line of Headmasters to find Triggerhappy and Topspin being the best Deluxes?great point and I'm going say no. Follow up question: What makes them so great? Is it just the transformation/mold? Is it that these are characters we haven't gotten in a while? Is there more creative wiggle room in the B or C team bots for the designers?

Perceptor
You know what? At first I wasn't that impressed with Big P, but the more I played with him and ran him through his modes, the more I liked him. Especially one mode in particular. He is the weakest of the these three, but still has a lot of fun packed in. His transformation is simple and not that unlike his G1 self.
My favorite mode though
The tank.
It's awesome that they bothered to work this mode in. It's not in the instructions, but it works, and it's meant to be there. It makes so much sense for Titans Return.
I've heard some problems about him tabbing together in either alt mode, but mine works well in both.
Kup's transformation is out of sight! It's cool to see this TF PRime level of panel forming again. The way his legs fold up is great. It all tabs together and holds tight. His mid section accordions up and tabs together solidly. It's the right level of moving parts, but fun and satisfying.
There are some little tab tricks that seem like they could easily fail. Like using the pin holes his hands pivot on as peg holes when his arms fold behind him. It works though thanks to the presicion of C.A.D.
But wait til y'all get a load of his arm transformation. Really smart. Really cool.
Kurona wrote:When it comes to truly fantastic figures, I find, you can't just nail down one amazing trait; it's a combination of many good little things to create a beautiful whole. Transformation, creativity, sleek jet modes, great-looking robots; even details like Triggerhappy's guns flipping forwards over his hands can really push a figure over from a 7 to a 9

Best I can tell, it is there solely to be a a control panel for tank mode. It also adds a little detail and breaks up all that red when you look through the clear tray in bot mode.william-james88 wrote: He has this extra silver flap on his chest (under the clear window). What is it for?
SCROTUM?! I barely know 'em!Willie Jammer wrote:And what is the purpose of his chest detaching all the way to his scrotum?
At first yes, but before you tab in the leg/side panels, fold down the nose of the truck. Press his feet in there, fold the nose back up and close everything around him.Billy Jim Cakes on Kup wrote:Hell yeah! His legs are freaken awesome! Are you having difficulty sticking his titan master in the cockpit?
Yes you did!William de la James about topspins tranformation wrote:Told you!
MP level awesome. Again the beauty and precision of C.A.D.Its the best arm transformation I have seen in the gen line so far. Its just so efficient and perfect. Like everything was calculated to fit perfectly.
I remeber you having a problem with them, but please explain again. I can't remember why.Binging Me Down Bill about Kup wrote:I dont like his look or colours, and I wont even use him in my season 3 photos, but I still love playing with him.
I would also add Blurr.Just regular Williamjames88 this time wrote:But I would add Blurr and Kup to that debate of the best deluxes.

Did you like my comment about his transformation about TF Prime level of panel-forming? something I didn't really appreciate until I spent time rapping with you so many years ago now.![]()

Kurona wrote:You guys say you'd add Blurr to the competition of best TR Deluxe... but would you substitute him for Brainstorm, exclusivity excluded? I've heard quite a few people say that while Blurr is fantastic, Brainstorm's better.
I feel that Brainstorm wears the mold better. The retooling and deco just works better, like the shorter bits that cover the hands are less noticeable in bot mode. It also doesn't hurt that BS was an actual headmaster either.Kurona wrote:You guys say you'd add Blurr to the competition of best TR Deluxe... but would you substitute him for Brainstorm, exclusivity excluded? Sure. It could have been paint, but it is there only for the tank mode, which is why it's odd that they'd just not mention that mode at all. they obviously put time, effort, and dedicated parts into it. Odd.william-james88 wrote:Cobotron wrote:Best I can tell, it is there solely to be a a control panel for tank mode. Oh for sure, but it could have just been paint and not an actual flap, that was what confused me. Every piece is more strain on the budget and that could have gone elsehwere.

I dont mean to bring you down. The deal with this guy is that I never owned the G1 toy so those colours dont mean much to me. I know Kup mainly from stuff like this:
*snip great examples*
Since I dont know the G1 toy, to me, getting this TR kup is like getting G2 Menasor instead of him in his original colours.
