I mean... trying to start dialog with some peeps is hard when as soon as you write something they don't even want to discuss it.. they just call you names trying to be the ulitmate fan or something.
Glad you asked... got the pics from http://www.jesterpictures.com cool ass ****. Dragon (fellow forum guy) hooked me up.
Robinson... what do I have to do to get you to GO AWAY? Good god man... let it go for f*** sake.
Hear, I will ask nicely... please go away!
And Blackstreet... I agree with you completely. I like beast Wars... but the movies being made have "guidlines" with G1 in mind.
I'm starting to think by liking G1 other fans get pissed becasue they feel the newer versions won't get their share of screentime. Maybe we purists threaten their existance;-)
Peace out!

Burn wrote:What, someone has a different opinion to yours on a DISCUSSION FORUM and you think you can tell them to go away?
You obviously missed the whole point of a DISCUSSION FORUM.
Skowl wrote:This is coming from official Seibertron staff: Cut it out with the personal attacks and foul language, that goes for everybody.
More respect and civility on the boards, please.
Dragonslayer wrote:Nobody's got a problem with G1. It was cool back in the day and it's still cool now. What we're saying is that not everyone who is a Transformers fan grew up with G1. Some grew up with Beast Wars, some with RiD, some with the Unicron Trilogy. What the writers are trying to do is appeal to ALL of those people as well as introduce new fans to the Transformers mythology. True, there were references to G1 all throughout the movie, but Burn is right: this movie is an all new storyline, not G1 all over again. They certainly should draw upon G1 for ideas and characters, but they have several other series they can use, too. To limit yourself like that is a bad thing. Variety is good. Take a look at Scorponok, for instance. They used him because he was from both G1 and BW. That way they can appeal to at least two kinds of fans in that respect.
So, in short, the movies should not be based solely on G1, but it should have a definitive role in shaping the story.

Mattamus Prime wrote:For the Auto bots... Prowl, Cliffjumper, Wheeljack, and some kind of fire truck bad ass one:-)
Considering that Spielburg has a thing for dinosaurs, I could see him arguing for keeping dinos in the movie. I mean, a giant robot disguised as a dino in this day & age....that could be badass & hillarious at the same time, & that seems to be what these movies are all about. I mean, imagine a scenario similar to the autobots hiding around Sam's house, only with A: a giant dino is roaming around freaking people out, & B: Grimlock thinking all the hiding is stupid, only he'd be more stubborn than Ironhide was.Swerve wrote:Mattamus Prime wrote:I'm not sure I'm capable of believing that they can pull off the Dinobots though.
I don't think you'll see all the Dinobots, but I can see them doing at least one. Grimlock is a big fan favorite. He's kind of dumb so I could see him scanning a T-Rex like an animatronic one at an amusement park or maybe he sees one at some place like La Brea. I doubt he would stay a T-Rex the whole movie. He might rescan something after another Transformer tells him it's a bad disguise. It's not a perfect way to get him in the movie, but just a possibility. Maybe he arrives right at the end of the movie for the final battle so for his on screen time we see him wreaking havok on the Decepticons as a dinosaur. Who knows?

I doubt we'll see Prowl, he was replaced by Barricade.
Do you mean a fire truck like Inferno, Hotspot, Hosehead, Red Hot... ? There have been a bunch of fire truck Transformers including Optimus.

Wait a minute. Are you saying a steam locomotive and a space shuttle are the same size?
Personally, I really don't think a lot of non-fans would get them *not* being dinos. I know a lot of people now don't see how dinosaurs would work in a realistic movie....but honestly, why would dinos be unreasonable, but yet a giant scorpion works just fine?Deadpool. wrote:Nemesis Cyberplex wrote:Considering that Spielburg has a thing for dinosaurs, I could see him arguing for keeping dinos in the movie. I've got an idea.
Why not have the Dinobots as the Dynabots, being a rogue bounty-hunter sorta group that left Cybertron before Megatron revolted and started the war?
They could have crashed onto prehistoric Earth in pursuit of some dangerous cybertronian criminal (a la BW Protoform X) and scanned in the Dino alt-modes but became mechanical versions. And after a long battle, the Ice Age arrived, and both the Dinos and the criminal got stasis-locked by the drastic climate change. And after being in stasis for millenia, they were buried deep underground, but dug up by Archaeologists and accidentally reactivated.
Upon reactivating and finding out that the world has changed a lot, they scan in present-day vehicular alt-modes, but still retain some dino-style design in their robot mode.
