I'm a bit confused as to why UT is working on characters that have already been done, but I guess the Go-Bots characters don't have all that much repaint potential otherwise...

Another thing as to why not , if this is a MP figure then wouldn't that make the Crasher repaint , Cykill and Wreck-gar MP too being from the same line .

Since this is being made by UT-DX9, I'm going to play it smart and wait for the eventual clearance sale. When the price drops near $50 to $60 then I'll pull the trigger and buy it.
but see, the classics figure is a different aesthetic. classics is a modern re-imagination of G1, not a direct update of engineering. and sorry, ive played this harp a lot, but thats not what "classics/generations" is to me. i go to the MP line for direct updates. this mirage, is way to close an MP. and on that note, i wouldnt touch 3P MP's with a 10 foot pole.Autobot Genocide wrote:Totally agree . The more i look at DX9 Mirage the more i don't like the classics figure .
I would expect Takaras MP to look something like this but a lot better .

In ^this we are in total agreement.

At least with Go-Bots, they can stand a little apart from the Transformers, being a different continuity or whatever.Delta Magnus wrote:Eh, no thanks. The robot mode looks a bit weird and the vehicle mode looks like a doorstop on wheels. I'll just get myself a Classics Mirage.
That's how the race cars used to look.
Here's one of Drag Strip.
(Actually, that last one might be a different car. I seem to remember a couple of different twin front axle race cars...)
Sorry, I just have fun looking at older cars (and planes!)

You mean Classics Mirage, one of the best executed Generations-styled toys?

He does have some issues Megs. Iirc, the original concept for Mirage by Alex whatshisname (the designer) was a less lanky/skinny Mirage.
But still a great mold/design overall Tsu. If it sucked so much, the henkei version of his is sooooooooooo hard to catch in the 2ndary market. But then again, eacg of us have our own preferences.
Hopefully Tomy will release an MP of Rieje.

Had Hasbro 1.0 Mirage on a display shelf for a while. Due to the skinny frame and skinny tall legs, It took a while to pose the robot mode into a stable pose. That's one of the main reasons, I dislike the toy. Second reason is it looks like a streched out BM Cheetor toy. Just don't like skinny long legs and a skinny frame on a male robot TF toy. That's why I overly dislike the AOE Voyager Optimus toy.

Iirc, in one of the articles where Kubalsky was auctioning his works, Mirage didn't come out 100% the way he wanted.
