They already screwed up with the height. They should have just scaled him with Grimlock, It made no sense to scale him with a figure that potential buyers may not even own or want to own. Theyre Dinobots, they stand alone. And I also got a funny feeling they might end up with gold paint instead of golden Chrome like MP Grimlock.

I got to thinking. Sludge would be the only Dino that i would actually want at this oversized scale. The rest should be MP Grimmys size.

I agree, Sludge should be the only Dinobot taller than Grimlock.

It's too bad the way that Fan Toys is going with this project with Slag. I am not disappointed with MP Grimlock's current size. But having Slag taller than MP Grimlock does not work for me. And the platform shoes for Grimlock is not an ideal solution. Everything else about Scoria I like so far (just make him an inch smaller please).

Customs by z has this on his fb page , a work in progress it's not clear what his plans are for this piece .

That looks like MP Grimlock's foot. The white cast on the right looks a tad larger.

I may be the odd one out here, but DacaToys Skyfire is Masterpiece size AND from the looks of it so far, quality wise as well. I would even dare say Takara would have a VERY tough time competing with Quakewave OR DacaToys Skyfire. I was a bit dissappointed FansToys is doing a Skyfire myself... But I'll still get it...

Scale isnt really an issue for me, they are round about the same size which is good enough. Could always just stand Grimlock a little bit closer than Slag to compensate!

Sorry, couldn't contain my excitement over how sexy that looks

I'm simply blown away by the high sculpt,engineering & articulation. FT did a great job of coming as close to the 1985 design as possible. I love this but still don't think it's worth $200. I would seriously consider buying it if it cost around $100-$115.

First Quakewave now Scoria. FT is really shaping up to be one of the better 3rd party companies. They remind me of MMC when it comes to quality,high sculpt & engineering.

I know deep down inside HasTak will never have what it takes to create something this great like FT did right here.

I used to think his height was wrong (too short ), but after looking at the official scale guide closely, I realised they were doing a very good job of scaling him with MP-10 and the rest of the 2.0 releases. Unfortunately that makes him look a little too tall next to MP-08...

This is incredible. I can't get over the details and coloring. I would really like to see a picture of the bot mode from the back. How much kibble is this going to have?

They really should have just scaled him the same height as Grimlock in bot mode. Those stupid boots were a dumb idea. Also, he should have some small teeth. I know that dinosaur ate plants, but cmon they all had teeth. And some translucent plastic with robotics underneath like Grimlock's dino neck should have been done for consistency. Other than that he looks pretty impressive.

Triceratops' aren't particularly known for their vicious bite. So teeth would be a superfluous design que and would busy up the design. If the idea here is to remain as faithful as possible to the g1 design than teeth aren't the right choice. I'm liking it just the way it is.
Well......a little cheaper price tag would be nice.

Yea - the body is a bit long, and the hind legs should be larger than the front legs. Also, where they decided to apply gold chrome, looks like there should be translucent gold-ish plastic similar to MP Grimlock's neck.

With all that, I really like him - just not at the price they're offering it.

It's strange - with Classics, I'm willing to drop some big bucks on 3rd Parties. But since MPs are already so cash-heavy, I'm inclined to wait for a really good deal.
