Is the Balkan MK6 the best choice for Soundwave's alt mode?

Postby Skowl » Sat Jan 26, 2008 12:55 pm

At first, I didn't like the fan designs of Soundwave as a Balkan MK6. I thought Soundwave needed some flying vehicle mode, but the more I think about it, the more I think I was wrong.

The colours work, the "military as Decepticon" aspect works, the spy-factor works: everything is perfect. The Balkan is still a fairly large vehicle and could make a decent-sized bot mode, capable of housing smaller minion bots.

The only thing that saddens me is that now the production team obviously won't use this idea, since it's already been done by the fans - which is a shame, because the more I think about it, the more I would have made this Soundwave if I was in charge of the film.

I think this would have been a great alt mode for Soundwave in TF2. It's a communications truck, and it would take cared of the mass shift debate for him.

At first I was put off a little, just a little bit but very soon after I grew to like it and quite a bit, I just questioned his capabilities is all, what type of weapons because I thought it was typically used as a troop transport or scout vehicle but he could deploy a small army of frenzy type bots and unleash a lot of chaos or have some sound generating pulses to disrupt human and autobrat activities.

That face for Arcee though is horrid, either make it more feminine or something but it looks like R2D2 made love to a crushed up tin can and Arcee was the result.

I can just picture the scene now. The doors open up, and a bunch of Frenzy type Cons jump out to attack, all speaking Cybertroian with the only words we can understand being "Witwicky!".

His last two words of "Oh sh*t" were pretty clear to me in the first movie. :)

I think this is one case where Hasbro should listen to the fans. It is a fantastic design. It's probably the best compromise between G1 and Movie style esthetics. It looks more clearly like the original Soundwave than any of the other designs look like their G1 counterparts. Hasbro, pony up and pay the man for a sweet design you can actually use.

i saw a picture of soundwave as the balkan, it was pretty good, what sealed the deal for me though was the spare tyre on the back unfolding into ravage, add a couple more minions like that, maybe a satalite laser beak or something for rumble. he would be perfect i think

I'd been thinking a spyplane, but what you're describing sounds SWEEEET...
Life can be pretty sweet when your alt-mode is a B-2 Stealth Bomber.

And for those of you who are wondering... I'M A GIRL!

I'm not prejudiced; I hate everyone equally.

As to they wont use it cos the fans got their first its not like they copyrighted it is it. Course they can use the model.

but i hope they dont cos that vehicle is underwelming.

It just looks like a 4/4 with a radar.

Soundwave is huge.Hes bigger than a lot of other characters. I think if hes in TF2 he should be some kind of ram machine with equipment for spying recording etc.

Like a tank but with wheels and treads. And assault guns and shields.
The flinch in your eyes calls your bluff
Feel free to die when youve had enough
Useless cause is breaking your back
Your life will end when you attack
