San Diego is considered to be the biggest so companies go all out for this one, also movie companies tend to make it a point to be there to showcase new things.

It's an awesome experience and its one of those things a nerd has to do at least once in a lifetime. :P

And once again, we are all screwed over.

I am so tired of the rest of the world being screwed over in favour of one country. It's not fair. Whatever happened to equal rights?

Not only is it one country, but it's one area of the country. I'm sick of hearing of how SDCC is the biggest and best convention. The only reason movie companies attend is because it's in California (where Hollywood is). We have DragonCon here in GA. I would wager that it compares in size, if not larger, than SDCC (yes, I am very aware of how large SDCC is when making this statement)! Hasbro should make these exclusives available at all such conventions (that compare in size) around the country (and the world). Thats what WizKids does with their Heroclix and Horrorclix exclusives, and it works out great for them.

Now I'm sure Dragon Con is fun and all but I did a little research and it kinda goes to show why SDCC gets so much hype and why the multiple industries look forward to it.

Nice research, but there were thousands turned away from DragonCon last year as well (that number reflects 2005, and SDCC is 2006). SDCC may have more, but it would still be nice to see Hasbro spread the wealth some.

Yeah it was the best I could do as far as numbers, but I think its because something like Dragon Con is a very niche type of con, almost like botcon. It primarily serves the sci fi market which transformers is a part of, but in hasbros mind they reach a much largr audience at SDCC

Weapon: Sniper Rifle
Well, after a quick look through e-bay, I noticed that Nemesis Prime is going for about $65 or so on average, unless you buy it now for a bit more---at least there's the hope that Alt Rodimus will be somewhat within reach in the next year or so. Here's hoping for a larger production run!

Oh well--it's an exclusive. If I can't afford it later, I just won't get it.

True, Hasbro is going on SDCC reputation (yes, it does have a pretty good one). I'd even like to go someday. Though, DragonCon compared to Botcon is like comparing an ant (Botcon) to a mountain (DragonCon). It covers everything, gaming, sci-fi, anime, music, books, film, british television, comics, costuming, etc. Anyway, I think I'll be able to pick up the exclusive via the Hasbro Toy Shop or on eBay for a semi-decent price. I'd just like to see Hasbro expand once they see what a success this will be, including last year's exclusive. Kinda "testing the waters."
