You could try contacting FP and see if they will sell it to you separately. I don't think it would hurt...

Vangelus review .

Other than the red torso this is the best Swoop yet. He scales with his team. He has a mouth. And he looks awesome.

Just seen a pic elsewhere of a silhoutted dinosaur that could be either Grimlock or the mystery newbie. Looks too slim to be Grimlock to me, but it may just be their take on him, a more "realistic" looking T-Rex. It could be something like a velociraptor if that's what they're going for the 6th member. Personally, I'd have preferred it to be either an aquatic dinosaur or an ankylosaurus.

But why does Columpio need new hips? Granted mine has been in dino mode for a while, but I don't remember anything being wrong with them.

I'm officially off the FP Dinobots wagon, to the point where I feel a bit sick that I bought the first two! In response to earlier posts, my Columpio's legs/hips were loose straight out of the box. Tightened them where I could, but still not happy that FP let that slip through their usually good QC....

The ball joints aren't very sturdy for several posing styles. I think some people probably used Future on them to alleviate the issue.

That'd be the one! Dinofembot sounds awesome, but the silhouette there looks a bit crap. Hopefully it'll come out a lot better in reality.

I watched the Vangelus Volar review last night, and i got kinda bummed.

His dino-mode legs are forever akimbo? That's a pretty big oversight if you ask me, and seems like something that could have been easily remedied in the design phase. Everything else is cake, but those dino legs bug me (admittedly, probably a lot more than they should).

I think the generally accepted theory these days is that the animal's legs were perpetually akimbo.


That's not to say that you have to like it. Just, if they are going for a more "realistic" (in as much as a robotic dinosaur that transforms is realistic) it fits the bill...

Excellent theory Aggs. That bit of knowledge does actually put me at ease.

The only thing i was thinking about was trying to pose him in an aerodynamic divebomb type maneuver, and those legs would kinda kill it. I'll still hold out hopes for some kind of mistransformation that can help those legs, but I can live without it if need be.

We could all go visit Jurassic Park and see for ourselves how a teradactyals legs look. I mean, its still open, right ?

All I know is that if Grimlock cant drag his tail, we riot !

I really hope they don't do Grimlock with the outdated "upright tail-dragger" T-Rex mode. It just looks stupid.

I love the tail dragging! Big dumb dinos always drag their tails like Barney and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Whether I go to my backyard or watch Animal Planet, all modern day reptiles seem to enjoy dragging their tails.

there is a fair amount of good info that indicates dinos were not much like modern reptiles. probably closer in behavior and biology to large birds.

Modern reptiles are all quadrupeds, and you'll find many that extinct quadruped saurians did drag their tails(the notable exceptions being some varieties of sauropod).

However, in the few reptiles that DO exhibit bipedal motive capability, when they do walk bipedal, they lift their tails:



In addition, every other species of theropod has the head and tail parallel with the ground.
