hi guys

this year i want to do some customs and thought id start off with this project
scan series sideswipe

wildrider ( g1 )

but not sure what paints to use ect so can anyone give me advice on customs thanks also what do you think of the choice for the wildrider custom thanks in advance

if not clear its sideswipe being formatted in to wildrider lol

I'm not sure how familiar you are with paints, but there are lots of brands to choose from, and only you can decide which is best for you.

Paint basically comes in three mediums: acrylic, enamels and lacquers, each with it's own pros and cons.

It's take more than a few pages to cover everything you'll need to know, so I reccommend you browse some of these modelers' websites:

Personally, I prefer to use a mix of Tamiya TS synthetic lacquer spray cans for moving parts and acrylics for non-moving parts, as well as industrial spray cans for spraying larger area with few detailing. I advice clear coating the whole fig to protect the paint job, especially if you're using acrylics. Future Floor Polish aka Pledge is known to provide a super-shiny surface and offer an almost armor-like protection over painted areas.

I can't really tell you if he's a good choice, but if you're inclined to use Sideswipe, I'd suggest getting Sidearm Sideswipe.

Movieverse Sideswipe's trademarks are his swords, which Wildrider isn't particularly known for. IMO the guns would suit his repaint as Wildrider much better. Plus, he's already got reddish windows, which saves you the trouble of having to tint or paint them over.

sorry its been a while just been really busy

havent started yet cause of the busyness but had a change of mind going to use g2 flash seems easyer to repaint and the body under the chest could do with a paint up anyway ( no stickers or anything ) lol also the face is perfect for rider too what do you guys think
