You people all make fantastic points. While I do now agree that we need to move on to other continuities, I don't think that G1 needs to be put to rest. Maybe not used as much, but not put to rest.

In fact, a bit of expansion on the following continuities would be nice:

Aligned (Not Prime, but FOC and WFC.)
Prime
Animated
Shattered Glass

I wouldnt mind seeing a prequel to beast wars.
not the end of the g1 war, but bw's megatron early days.

I also wouldnt mind seeing something connected to the first RID

The novels and comics show what happened after WFC and FOC.

The new RID cartoon is the sequel to Prime.

Sadly, Animated was prepared to have a fourth season, but it was canceled due to a number of things, and Hasbro seems to feel that Animated's era is over.

Shattered Glass had several text stories and comics, and the Club has left the one they wrote in 2011 open-ended and needing its ongoing storyline finished, so it's probably not yet done, but it remains to be seen if the Club will ever get back to it, what with all of the other things it's got going on.

Theft of the Golden Disk and Dawn of Future's Past did give us some of that.

true, but I feel they could do at least a mini animate series on it.
