Seeing as how Transformers can pretty much make what they want, and especially since the Decepticons/Predacons can simply go and TAKE what theywant/need....I doubt economics is a problem. Besides, I doubt every race in the cosmos uses money, anyhow. Look at the Borg, they don't trade, or buy, or sell....they just make/take what they need.

My only problem are stories where it's the human who saves the day....for like those particular stories, the TF's invovled seem to forget their skills or abilities.
