Vector Sigma, the Oracle, the Allspark, and the Matrix

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Postby Dr. Caelus » Fri Nov 09, 2007 9:53 pm

1) Primus's name is used in the first season of Beast Wars It is used b/c Canadian censorship wouldn't allow Rhinox to say "Oh god". The writers didn't want to nix the line altogether, so they went fishing through previous work to find a Transformer creator deity. They found Primus, and used that. Later, Furman was brought into to write some episodes, in which Primus's relevance is further emphasized.

2) Beast Wars refers to things portrayed in both the comic and the cartoon, so it can be assumed to be the product of a hybrid G1 continuity. Perhaps the Dreamwave G1 continuity.

3) The IDW Beast Wars Comics take place during and after the Beast Wars TV series. The characters are time shifted 'out of phase' with the show characters by Magmatron, preventing them from interacting with the show characters and thereby altering the future. The only show characters to interact with them so far are Megatron and Ravage. In a DW one-shot comic, Rattrap encountered some of the other Beast Warriors, but Optimus Minor erased his memory of the event.

Iacon was the main city on Cybertron that they visted in several episodes. It's allso where Shockwave was stationed as he never came to Earth.

The Ark and The Nemesis allso were mentioned as the names of thier ships in the cartoon.

Primus is the only thing that's really different as the Quentiessons are the creators in the cartoon, Primus is the creator for the comics. Beast Wars/Machines never say who their creator is so it could go either way.
Sorry, Saber, but again your lack of G1 cartoon knowledge is showing you up. I'm gonna have to ask you for the episodes where the terms were used, or you're gonna have to admit you're wrong.

I perfer that Primus created the Matrix before he went into a deep sleep (hence the nobody knowing about him), and the Quintesson's shell program aka the oracle onto sigma.

Primus doesn't exist! They don't return to the matrix when they die! Someone just made that up to stop Autobots from going nuts!

But is it not written in the Electronic Bible, "The iron shall lie down with the lamp?" Well, it's common sense, sir. If there were no afterlife to look forward to, why on Earth would machines spend the whole of their lives serving mankind? Now that would be really dumb!

Wheeljack mentions Iacon in the first five minutes or so of the Cartoon. I think the Ark is mentioned soon after that, though I don't believe the Nemesis was ever named in the cartoon, just shown.

Of course, the Ark was also mentioned in the G1 Comics, same as Primus. It changed hands a few times as well, travelled back to Cybertron (under the command of Grimlock) and crashed on Earth again (under the command of Shockwave). It was a major plot device.

I don't think the ships were ever named in the cartoon. The Autobots always called it "the base" or "headquarters".

Actully Bumblebee says it first then Wheeljack says it soon after.

Bumblebee: Can't worry about that now. Hey let's get back to Iacon.

Wheeljack: Load up!

Bumblebee: I bet Optimus Prime will be glad to see us.

Wheeljack: We're nearing the bridge to Iacon, 1 mega mile to go.

I could keep going, they say it more but it's easier to just post the episode.

The Autobot ship/HQ is, to the best of my knowledge, never referred to as "The Ark" at any point in the G1 cartoon. The name came from the comic, as did the bizarre naming of it's computer as "Auntie." :???: The Decepticon ship was unnamed.

Oh, while I'm on the go: what would make anyone think Shockwave was stationed at Iacon? Wouldn't that make things a little bit awkward?
Megatron: What are the accursed Autobots up to?
Starscream: We could go and listen in, they're only on the other side of this wall.
Megatron: No, no. That would violate the agreement, and leave me susceptible to finding shaving foam in my boron compressor again. Blast that Sideswipe. And what IS shaving foam?

I was wrong abot Iacon....I remembered it right after I shut down my pc and went to bed but I dare you to find a single G1 episide where The Ark and The Nemesis were mention by name. You wont find one.Go ahead and try.

The Ark was originaly mention by name in the G1 comic book and the Nemissis I dont thing was givven a name till Beast Wars.

Iacon is a HUGE city, you make it sound like an apartment.

Heck I live in a small town and dispite what TV would lead you to belive I do not know everyone who lives here and rumors do not travel fast. Iacon and Crystal City (from what I can remember) were the only citys named in G1 toon and sence Crystal City was allready destroyed before it was ever introduced Shockwave must be in Iacon.

Thats a limited way of thinking.....just because no other city was mwentioned doesnt meen that Shockwave must be in Iacon.

How many citys have you heard of in New York?????Just because you didnt hear any other names is no reason to Assume that there were only 2 cities.

But I have no real clue to where he was station.

Well, I think Sto covered everything. Gotta say, I love the idea that everyone lives in the same city.
Megatron: We must take out the Autobots' main power relay station!
Starscream: But it's also OUR main power relay station. And the last time you blew it up, it took weeks for everyone to get their alarm clocks reset.
Megatron: Curse the limited housing available on Cybertron!

The Nemesis only shows up in the episodes "More Than Meets the Eye 1" and "Microbots", and it is not referred to by a name in either. (In fact, after taking the Heart of Cybertron in "Microbots", the Decepticons pretty much just ignore it.)

Correct. The ship was referred to in two other episodes... "Trans-Europe Express" and "A Plague of Insecticons" but nether time by name.

Arg what the heck was I on when I wrote that no wander you misunderstood so badly.

I simply ment that if Shockwave were stationed in a different city it would have been named somewhere in the series. Like "Hey let's go to <insert name here> and kick Shockwave's afterburner." They never said where he was so it can be assumed he's in Iacon.

Maybe the Decepticon base on Cybertron was near the outskirts of Iacon while the Autobots were actully somewhere in the city itself.

That still makes no sense. If I say I live in a city but don't tell you the name, will you assume that it's New York just because you live there?

Now you're just putting words in my mouth. Read what I'm saying and stop trying to read things that aren't there.

Look even in the first episode and several episodes later whenever a city name is mentioned it's allways Iacon. Shockwave is in or at least near Iacon simple as that. How the hell is that so difficult to understand?
