From either the recent live action film, or much more preferably from the comics and / or the older animated TV series (which have both offered more time to get to know the Transformer characters), who are currently your 3 favorite Transformer characters and please say WHY, for each fave one named.

If this topic has been discussed here (or on any other sites you know of) before, please give a thread link if you have any on file, as I did a search here on this great site and unfortunately nothing came up, as the search system on this board isn't that good unfortunately.

Only just three?

Well here goes..

Though favorites are not in order from most to least.

G1 Starscream: He is very intelligent and cool. He is a superb flyer and he looks cool as an F-15. He unfortnately is very nasty too in attitude and has a flippant way of going about things. If I were to meet him in person, I might not like him in real life as smart-mouthed people tick me off. He has a smart-mouthed answer for everything, and a smirk when he is thinks he is better then you. So I like him and dislike him at the same time.


Thundercracker: I like him because there is some good in him. Presumably he will not try and harm innocent humans, just the enemy TFs he is in battle with. He is my top favorite, though I don't like his colors. I might trust him a bit mmore if I were to meet him in real life, plus we could talk about flying stuff.

Skywarp: He is cool, but he is ah, not so bright. If I met him in real life, he can be tricked easily, so I might use this to keep him confused if he starts getting troublesome. I like his colors, but he has a small intellect and he has a bad bad temper. So I would be careful around him.

So my faves are in order:
1. Thundercracker
2.Skywarp
3.Starscream

Heh. So hard to pick.

All G1:

Grimlock. He's big and...ah...'simple', but lovable nonetheless. Despite his mental shortcomings, doesn't always do stuff just because people tell him to. And he's a freaking dinosaur. How can you not love that?

Jazz. Not only is he freaking cool, he's interested in earth things...which makes him a bit easier to relate to, I think. Not unlike Hound, whom I wish I could say was in my top 3.

Ravage. Admittedly, Ravage is on the list just because I'm an animal freak. Being a sneaky git helps, too.

1. g1 Sideswipe. He is such a badass in the g1 series. Always down to fight. He was my original favorite player as a kid.

2. g1 Skywarp. I dont really know why. I just love his color scheme and the fact he is not a relentless pussy like g1 Starscream.

3. g1 Soundwave and Ravage (Sorry, package deal here.) they both have balls. Ravage would fight the friggin grim reaper of circutry. Both are most Loyal to the Decepticon cause.

I think g1 Prime goes without saying for most. #4 for me would have been movie Ironhide. I love that duder.

that is sooo tough to decide, but here goes...

movie bumblebee- he's just, awesome. i loved his design ever since i saw him in the first trailer!

soundwave- i just like the whole idea of a boombox with cassette minions!

grimlock- he is a freakin t. rex! and he has a sword! and i think he is hilarious and badass at the same time!

Starscream,G1- TV shows have their backstabber types but Starscream had the balls to let everyone know what his intentions were.even when he failed,Starscream never got demoted from Air Commander, or his possition of 2nd in command of the decepticons.

Thundercracker,G1-In one episode,we got to see thundercraker try to keep the decepticons in order in Megatron's and Starsceam's absence.I just seemed to really relate to his character at the time.You can tell his hearts not in it but he does his duty anyway,while under fire from soundwave.I wished this topic was revisited.I like the color blue too.

Eltia-One,G1-The concept of the Autobots leading guerrilla warfare with the Decepticons fighting an insurgency was a nice twist.A female in a lead position was a must have been a rare thing to see on cartoons at the time.

For Autobots(excluding Optimus Prime)
1. Jazz cuz he's voiced by Scatman Crothers, a Porche, loves music and he's black
2. Bumblebee cus he's the most human
3. Wheeljack cus his accent is cool and he makes stuff like #4
4.(i know i gotta pick 3 but) Grimlock cus he's a dinosaur\
5.(i know but i have too many favorites)Ultra Magnus

Decepticons
1. Soundwave obviously
2. Starscream obviously
3. hard to pick. either Rumble, Ravage or Thundercracker

1. Optimus Prime-from any series except Beast Wars (yes I dont like bw). Mostly because hes the hero though.
2. Starscream-G1 and Armada incarnations are his best. whether hes a coward or being selfish, he is awesome.
3. Megatron-again, his G1 and Armada forms. How can you not like his turning into a handgun, and being psychotic? And Armada because I like his design. And he's a bit less psychotic than in G1.
4. Brawn-gotta stick him here anyway. He's just a minibot but cmon, hes hella strong! Same with the cassettes too.

1.Jazz
hes interesteed in earth culture and he lives by the hip hop style and hes the 2nd in command
2.Prowl
i have no idea why
3.grimlock or wheeljack cliffjumper
gl-the tough one and he thinks he should be the leader
wj-the technician and he makes cool weapons
cj-the brave small one. he actually tried to fight megatron before

1. movie barricade: just a total bad azz
2. movie bumblebee: true warrior
3. movie tronhide: i'm loveing the alt mode

my three favs are

Origin of Megatron Megatron (I like to call Megatron Megsie ) I like him because he kicks arse and is uber hot and doesn't look old and weird like G1 Megsie

I also like G1 Thundercracker because he is so cool. He is my favorite jet because he is . Also I like his character with the whole not sure about the decepticon cause and crap.

I also like starscream and COBRAAAAAA commander aka not starscream. I'd like to believe that G1 starscream was a scientist before the war but in the G1 cartoon he just looks like an egotistical retarded ass...I love screamer who,doesn't,but it is true...and you all know it... But those are my favs for now until I change them again after watching some eps and totally change my mind ha I'm a super freak super freak I'm super freaky! jk lol

movie and G1 Optimus Prime, cuz he's Optimus Prime, nuff said. Movie Ironhide, I like huge guns for some reason.
G1 grimlock, I like dinosaurs.

wow....tough choices indeed!

I guess I would have to say the movie has some good characters...The movie Megatron was mighty smokin'...and Barracade was cool as well (I love a**hole cop-cars!)...and everyone's favorite beloved/hated Decepticon: STARSCREAM! He may be a whiner and a baby, but he's a six-pack o' whoopa**!

Only three, huh? Well, lemme see...

1. G1 Starscream, because he's so determined to take over as leader of the Decepticons, and no matter how many times he fails, he keeps on trying. He's such a snarky brat that just looks adorable when he smirks; I love him

2. Skyfire (Jetfire), because he's the freaking kewlest autobot jet EVER! He's such a noble character and he looks awesome and yeah...he's just a great bot!

3. It's a three-way tie between G1 Jazz, movie Jazz, and movie Ironhide. I love them all to death. Jazz is kewl because he loves Earth culture and he likes to have fun. And he was a Porsche! Luv Porsches. Movie Jazz is cute as a Solstice too, though I would've preferred a Porsche. As for Ironhide, he's just too bada** to not like

Well, I'm gonna break the G1/Movie trend by going the Beast Wars route

Blackarachnia

Female bot's tend to be rare, likeable ones moreso. She's concerned with her own survival and the furtherance of her own power, she's "Asian" and I have a weakness for asian women, and she's a bad girl, which is a welcome break in the trend for most TF women whom tend to be... well... frankly, they tend to be goody two shoes.

Rattrap

He's a wise cracking cynical bot that isn't afraid to call his leader a fool if he thinks that's the case. He gives everyone a hard time but means well and carries the day through when he's called upon.

And who could forget his wonderful "We're all gonna die!" catch phrase

Silverbolt

He's a complete goof... but a lovable goof. There's something about him that makes me want to give him some friendly rough housing, and at the same time, his lines make me "Augh!" like Kif Kroker

He also has his own beliefs and code of honour, one that can lead him into conflict with his leader. He's a loyal trooper and will stick to his guns.

1. Grimlock, just loves the way he talks..
2. Starscream, I just like him for reasons I don't quite know..
3. Swoop, coz he's kinda cute...

I'm going to give my top three, not including G1 Optimus Prime, because he's just awesome.

1. Grimlock - Anyone who is brave enough to jump into space and kick a planet-former in the a** is alright in my book.
2. Hot Rod - He reminds me of myself, rash and unthinking in youth, unsure of himself in a leadership position at first, but eventually grows with it.
3. Omega Supreme - He's huge, he's powerful, and he's out for vengence ... sweet.

Honorable Mentions
Superion, Metroplex, Fortress Maximus, Ironhide, Ultra Magnus, Skyfire

There was a discussion like this on TFW2005 Boards, but since I'm new here to Seibertron, I'll state my 3 favorites here:

1) Optimus Prime -- all the way, baby!!!
2) Barricade -- his alt-mode's cool
3) Soundwave -- from G1; love his voice

My own top three...

1. Perceptor is definitely my favorite Autobot. I've always had a big soft spot for the brainy/nerdy characters in any given universe (mainly because *I'm* a bit of a nerd...)

I like the way he has a quiet, unflappable sort of courage (in contrast to most of the other Autobots, who tend to be rather energetic gung-ho types, though that's fun also). He reacts to most things with the same sort of cheerful matter-of-fact adaptability, whether it's getting arrows shot at him by the natives, dueling Soundwave with a giant pencil(!), or trying to negotiate with a ranting, rusting Megatron.

I also can empathize with getting all excited about sharing some new bit of knowledge you find interesting, using vocabulary you find perfectly normal and understandable, only to have someone yawn from boredom and demand you speak English. He certainly handles it with greater aplomb than I did as a kid (and my friends were even less snotty about it than most of the Autobots).

Finally, he's got a cool altmode ('Scope-Cam!), an equally neat robot mode (yay, giant shoulder-mounted laser cannon - that's a lot of firepower for a brainy type...), and a pleasant accent.

2. On the flip side, Starscream is my favorite Decepticon. Much as I usually hate jumping on the bandwagon, he's just so irresistably entertaining to watch chewing the scenery.

Whether he's being a slimy bastard, an arrogant egotist, a snivelling coward, or leaping impatiently before he looks (and sometimes all of that at once), he steals almost every scene he's in. It's fun watching him get one over on Megatron and the other Decepticons, and it's equally fun watching him get smacked for it when Megatron gets back in control again.

Plus, the Autobots should be thankful for Starscream. Without him throwing a spanner into the works for the Cons on a regular basis, they'd have lost a lot more often.

3. This is a bit trickier, since there's many other characters I find appealing, but... I think maybe I'd have to pick Silverbolt.

You kind of have to feel sorry for the guy. He's stuck having to herd the Autobot equivalent of a bunch of smart-mouthed teenagers, *and* he's afraid of heights (thus proving that the universe has a twisted sense of humor).

Yet he manages to be responsible, compassionate, have a good deal of common sense, and can be delightfully crafty and sharp-witted when the situation calls for it. And brave as well... anyone can be courageous about something they're not afraid of, but having to deal with something that scares you silly? I'm acrophobic myself, and I avoid being more than a few feet off the ground whenever possible. :X I'd certainly be in trouble if I was saddled with a flying altmode.

I'd post an Honorable Mention list, but it'd be rather long. It's what I like most about Transformers, I think - there's so many fun and appealing characters.

i mean if were bringing in beast wars.

1.tarantulas because he was a bad ass he built his own base and
his legs were guns fuggin amazing.

2. Ironhide ( all versions) i loved the fact he was a weapons speacialist and his weapons looked cool and in the movie he looked so bad ass.

3. and last but not least but. optimus prime because hes just the leader. and ive never been so sad from a cartoon character's death lol besides ash in pokemon the 1st movie

Armada starscream: The only charachter that go me into watching armada, I just loved the way it was developed.

Megatron Origins Megatron: Finally a megatron which other TF truly fear, an overskilled combatant, an assasin in true form. Just badass

BW Optimus: my childhood hero, he seemed unbeatable in BW, in beast machines he fought against everything to save his world.

1.Cliffjumper-He's very cute and very sexy. I just love him.

2.Starscream-A sinister guy. But i still like him.

3.Jazz-A cool and sexy dude.

1.) Predaking: He's the f***ing weapon of pure destruction as f***ing awesome looking!

2.) BW Dinobot: His character, honor, sacrifice, etc.

3.) G1 Blitzwing: Awesome modes; Really liked how his character improved in FFOD with him becoming smart enough to leave the Cons without joining the Bots.

Number one fav:MEGATRON- he enbodies everythig a baddie is soppose to be...and he's indestructable.

Mirage- i like he color, his alt mode, his demeanor..and his cloaking power.

Soundwave- do i even need to put down the laudrey list of reasons why Soundwave is sssssoooo cool..?

1. Optimus Prime - all Autobots look up to him

2. Movie Bumblebee - I liked the design and I liked his toy. He values friendships above all else and is willing to sacrifice for the sake of others

3. Grimlock - He had a lot of screen time in the post 86 movie cartoon. He's a renaissance robot. Any one time or another he is/was a warrior, leader, friend, clown, genius, inventor, father... The list could just go on.
