That's what I'm talking about! While I like Hasbro Metroplex, I thought there was an opportunity to make the carrier mode look better with the chest pieces closer to the flight deck. This just confirms my suspicions.

I wish I could afford this. It's all I can do to talk myself into buying Computron. I cannot do both. I think I'll save these pics and use them in my desktop slideshow compilation.

I think it looks very nice, but I'll stick with Hasbro's Titan Class. With the addition of that second gun (which also turns into a Slammer-esque tank) from X2 Toys, it completes the city look just fine. I bought the $4.00 Reprolabels for the windows and it looks fantastic.

I think they waited too long to produce this. Had they beaten Hasbro to market, and by quite a margin, they might have had a real hit on their hands. As it stands now, I don't think it's going to sell nearly as well as they need it to. Which is a shame, because it looks to be a really nice mold.

A little busy, but nice.

Gorgeous. I like this Metroplex and Hasbro's. They appeal to different parts of me. One is a highly articulated giant robot while the other is an awesome legends class play place. Utopia will look great next to my SDCC Metroplex. He will just be another one of the original Titans.

That ramp interconnection is a very cool thought. It shows the level if intricacies that MakeToys is thinking about.

Alas, I'm more than happy with my Takara Metroplex, so I'll be passing on this.

I'm passing, too. It looks nice... but the Hasbro Metroplex is a quarter of the price, much larger and I have no quibbles about it.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

I don't want to say that it is too expensive. It may well be worth the money. But, alas, I will not be spending this money. I think it looks really, really good, though!

It does still look good, yes. And if not for my dislike of when third parties do characters that have already been officially taken care of (especially if it was only within the last few years), I'd say, "Awesome job, Maketoys!"

But, well, it has been officially done. With a decent and much larger figure, and for (even after purchasing Reprolabels and a few other third party items to augment it) much less cost.

If people want to buy this... Well, that's their business. But me, I'm still scratching my head over why this is even being made, other then Maketoys wanting to have a line of city-bots that are all to scale with one another. I suppose if spending a few hundred extra is worth matching scale to you, you'll like this just fine. Me, I'll be over here still metaphorically scratching away. (I won't literally be doing so, I have much better things to do with my time! Image)

Price around 400$

Size, same size (or a little big bigger) than omega supreme with mt add on kits.

Maybe will be the possibility to combine metroplex and omega supreme in base mode.

I can't see myself spending $400 on it for that single mode, though.

$400 is the price I guessed the MT city bots would be in that MP Scorponok thread.

Don't need this as I think the HasTak 30th Metroplex is a outstanding, Above the limts type of toy.

MT did a great job on this toy, It's just not for me.

This thing does look fantastic.

If they announce a Trypticon, and it is the same design quality as this, I may reconsider and pick this guy up.

If Hasbro announces a Trypticon as well, then I'll probably stick with HasTak versions.

I'm in wait and see mode.

He is nice, and his gears are solid. He can hold a lot of different poses and his joints seem to bear the weight well (and he is heavy).

However he's not worth $400.

If someone decides to KO this and upsize it to the scale of Hasbroplex, id be all in at $400. But at this scale he is no city bot. Maybe a bunker, but not a city.

Too bad Hastak beat MakeToys to the punch with this one as I really like what I'm seeing in these pics.

With that said, I'll pick up the eventual recolor, but I'll be passing on this.

For the $400 this would cost me, I was able to snag the Hasbro Plex from Costco ($80), Takare Plex during TFsource's Black Friday Sale ($160), and the ACG Con Plex this weekend during BBTS' Botcon Sale ($180).

So... the 3 official, larger Metroplexes for $420 vs. MT's Utopia for $400? >:oP

He looks nice in every mode, and sports tons of detail and articulation. He looks simply AMAZING with MT's combiners. But the cost/benefit is clearly in the official product's favor. An unfortunate pass.
