According to Cubicwang, he painted it himself and notes differences among a few of the custom repaints and his work. He thought they were great but he didn't like things like to much battle scarring, etc. He actually bought this figure and tried to complete the paintjob so he could take the toy to the movie!

There are a few sister sites to this one putting this rumour as top news. Would appreciate if you spread the word so that it can be lain to rest.

In future please feel free to PM me first and let me do a read to help prevent sudden increases in heart rate and blood pressure followed by equally rapid drops. Not good for health.
