With that being said, outside of my work office I rarely view this site from a conventional computer. I often use notepad to type a comment that way I can just paste it on the comment box in one shot. But that is annoying. You should really look into fixing this issue.

Seibertron.com is long overdue for a major redesign using the current responsive design style. It's on my list of things to tackle after Christmas. It's a MAJOR undertaking which will require the entire site to be overhauled. Huge undertaking, as in a few months to redesign the site most likely. I'm aware of the issues. I'm a mobile user myself (I own a Samsung Note 5) and am aware of the limitations Seibertron.com has on a mobile device.

Restarting your computer will have no effect on this. It's either an issue with your email or with the server, but since some notifications are going out, I'm more inclined to think it's an issue with your settings or your email account. It's either an all or nothing thing. Either the notifications work or they don't work. It doesn't work for some and not others. Most likely when a user isn't receiving notifications but others are, it's because of something wrong with their end.

I clicked the link but it didn't take me to my "View Your Posts" page. And, no, neither of the two threads I linked to appear in my "View Your Posts" page on my end, and haven't done so ever since I created either of them.

Where are you experiencing this issue at? Is it from your user profile or somewhere specific? I looked up a user's posts earlier today from his profile, which worked fine. Perhaps there's a bad link or something somewhere that needs to be corrected of which I'm unaware.

For me, it only seems to happen with threads that I have created as the OP. Any other thread I post in that someone else started shows up for me in my "View Your Posts" page.

Err, wait, I think I've also found a thread that I didn't start but did post in, but which is also not showing up in my VYP page.

Could it be that these ones that don't show up in my VYP page are ones whose first posts of mine were made after a certain date? That's the only answer I can think of since all of the threads that do show up are ones that I've been posting in for a long time.

That sounds exactly like a spambot. Where are you seeing these?

(The smilies are (mostly) fixed btw)

Little bit of a secret ... spammers create accounts all the times, but the first post of a new user has to be approved. They're normally pretty easy to spot though so we deal with them before regular members can actually see them.

If one makes it through, just use the "Report this post" button and then I'll deal with it and Cobotron.

That sounds exactly like a spambot. Where are you seeing these?

There listed on the 'our newest members' area, under the statistics part of the forum index page. You can also find them on the latest page(s) of the members directory, there are pages upon pages of them, none of them 'seem' legit to me.

But none of them are posting anything though, they're just there. I don't mind if they're actually people, but it doesn't seem like it

Ok, I figured out what one of the major problems was on the server. Good ol' Heavy Metal War! The database tables for that game were not properly indexed. I didn't work on the game, it's not a prominent part of Seibertron.com any more. However, it does continue to run on the site, and every minute the server runs a script that processes the current battles. After I looked over those database tables and indexed a few of the obvious fields in a dozen of the database tables for that game, the server seemed to calm down quite a bit.

I will continue monitoring the server's health and will continue looking further into some of the legacy problems from Heavy Metal War.

I also made some additional optimizations to MySQL, PHP and Apache this week so you should definitely see an increase in the speed of Seibertron.com coupled with the fixes to the structure of HMW's database tables. Please let me know if it seems faster to you guys. Thanks!

FYI ... the forums may continue to hang, but the front end of Seibertron.com should fly really fast now. If you are experiencing speed issues on the forums (specifically when posting a reply), please let me know that as well as how the front of the site is running for you. Thanks!

Made another Apache change after something got switched around earlier during a server update. Testing forum posting speed to see if that might have been resolved.
