Hrm....That makes him MP, right? I might be interested in an MP Blurr, but I'd prefer to see it from Has/Tak. Suddenly I am even less interested in this. Deluxe size could have me intrigued...
Think this SXS Blurr is a Deluxe scaled toy. MP Sideswipe is only a 6.4 inch tall robot mode. Blurr next to MP Sideswipe looks like a Six inch tall robot mode. 2.0 Deluxe Cyclonus was a Six inch tall robot mode.
Don't need this, as SXS Blurr is too close in height to the HasTak Generations Blurr toy. Generations Blurr was a tall deluxe robot toy and almost Six inches in height.
If 3rd parties expect me to spend those 3rd party prices. They need to offer me something different than the HasTak toy versions. If SXS Blurr was a Voyager scaled toy around 6.7 inches tall in robot mode. Maybe with the added Alternators, Human alliance car interior like seats, steering wheel, dash board, rear view mirror, stick shift, rubber tires, side mirrors, tail pipe and other items. Then I might have considered buying it.
So youre saying MP sideswipe is really small ? How small is he compared to classics/universe sideswipe ? Any pics ?
Seibertron took several with his Masterpiece Sideswipe gallery. MP Sideswipe is significantly taller than Classics. I'm not sure what Tsutsukakushi is thinking.
(This is also why I do not value the inches with decimals measurements. Are they to the head, shoulder, backpack? Plus, inches are measured in fractions in the US, not decimal. I'm pretty good judging a quarter inch. .3 inches? Photo comparisons are the best, in my opinion.)
Damn, I was hoping he was actually right.![]()
Oh well, money saved.
looks like 3P is hating on you and the classics scale these days
necr0blivion wrote:I think most of you are looking at this in the wrong way. SXS decided to show this prototype picture next to MP Sideswipe, but I don't think it was to compare MP aesthetics; it was to show height/size. And of course, this isn't a Deluxe scale, it's Voyager scale. So, for those wanting a new Deluxe sorry, this isn't for you.
What I believe the correct way to look at this offering is, and may make more sense to you all in a visual is the following:
I think this Blurr is going to look good next to Generations Springer. Hope to see some more pics soon. I'm not thrilled with their Gears/Continuously Variable, but maybe this one hits the sweet spot.
Tsutsukakushi wrote:Don't like this, Think it looks like some of those half finished 3rd party Arcee toys. Think it's too small and has a vehicle mode that looks incomplete in parts.

How large do you want Blurr to be? This is already a Voyager sized figure.

Too small ? he should be the same size as Generation Springer , I think the alt mode looks fine .

Sorry, I'm not seeing a Voyager scale robot mode for SXS Blurr. I'm seeing a Six inch thin Deluxe robot mode for SXS Blurr like 2.0 Cyclonus has.
Autobot Genocide wrote: He's taller than Cyclonus , Blurr is slightly taller than MP Sideswipe . To the tip of his head Cyclonus is the same height as classics Sideswipe (i don't count cyclonus's ears)

Tsutsukakushi wrote:MP Sideswipe barely made the Voyager scale by a mere 0.2. As he measures in from head top toe as a 6.2 inch robot mode. So having SXS Blurr be a half of a head shorter than MP Sideswipe even counting SXS Blurr's head spike. Means SXS Blurr is a 6 inch deluxe toy like 2.0 Cyclonus is.

They would have so much potential if they were shrunk to classics scale. MP collectors want cartoon accuracy so this is kind of stupid. Should have been deluxe because drift blurr has to go, but this aint it.
Doesn't that by definition make them not MPs?
I was referring to the trend started by warbotron of making MP scaled figures that are neo instead of cartoon accurate. It seems to defy the whole point of the MP line.

Perhaps they're aimed at people who like MP engineering and size but prefer Neo aesthetics. Although I have yet to acquire MPs, their sheer mass and intricate engineering is the draw for me rather than the G1 accuracy. For example, I prefer Kawamoori's "Scabbard" design for Starscream to the cartoon model.
Alternatively, it is a 3P MP...but it's super accurate to the IDW design rather than the G1 design.
In any case, I like him. I wonder if they plan on doing an MP scale Arcee?

I don't see any reason to think this is a MP toy myself , nothing about it says MP not when you compare it to Fanstoys or Badcube designs . Looks like a classics figure to me just like there gears but 100X better .

Well, it's MP scale and by the looks of things very well engineered. That makes it an MP (albeit a third party MP) in my book.
