Anyone know if you can cancel pre-orders at HLJ? You can't at amiami, and the thing that's got me hesitating is the Yen is rising. Last year it floated around 124 to 128 to the dollar. It's at 109 today. August is a ways away so who knows what could happen. My fear being, it keeps rising.

Yes, you can cancel preorders at HLJ very easily. Just go to your orders page, hit the change order button, make your change, and hit submit.

I am gonna get computron tonight as well but I am debating between Anime Export, Amiami and HLJ. Any reason you picked HLJ?

Been dealing with them for years, never had a problem. Their private warehouse is awesome.

My one complaint is they don't always get some of the more exclusive exclusives (e.g. UW Defensor ... or whatever his Japanese name was, no need to correct me know-it-alls, you know which character I'm talking about) and in that case, I either live without them, or hit up other sources.

Yeah, preordered from HLJ. I may switch if a better offer comes up that I can cancel if necessary, but it's a good price.

Yes I do and it is indeed banking advice. If you fear a rising yen, you can lock down your exchange rate right now by buying from Anime Export. Since you pay right away, your price is set and you dont have to worry about your dollar getting you less later (though that will impact when you pay shipping but that would happen at any of the other options). The difference between HLJ and Anime Export is 15$, that aint peanuts and its more than you would save by waiting for a lower dollar in 4 months unless Japan's economy experiences a housing crisis like you guys did.

By the way it would realy help if anyone had their bill for shipping 1 combiner from these places.

Amiami SAL for Menasor was 4,195 JPY

Does anyone have that info on any other shipping method or retailer?

Seriously, hlj did get that Black Convoy exclusive among other things and their cancel system is tops. Wish they had more access to other exclusives.

These colours surprised me. I was worried they would be toon acurate and make it a boring scheme, but it actually has the exact same variety of hasbro's minus the pale plus, and it gives Afterburner a better windshield colour. Plus it has this neat tech detail on the chet to highlight the new molding, I am a huge sucker for that!

I don't hate the colors, but I don't really love them. But then I see the Hasbro one, and I'm reminded of gaudy Easter decorations, which I hate.

Hasbro's looks SOOOOOOOOO good with those new hands and feet vs Takara's which ends up looking pretty sleepy with the HFGs. The new pieces really set it off and make it worth getting over the Takara version.

I'll be sticking with Takara; the new tooling is the deciding factor for me.

After getting pictures of Takara's Computron in grey (individual pictures are below, courtesy of Autobot00), we are finally treated to a colour image finally showing us what the colour layout will be. It's courtesy of TF Yuki and it doesn't dissapoint. Instead of going for the standard cartoon deco with having the combiner chest all red (much like the Betatron torso), Takara actually incorporates some tech designs to highlight the remolding of the chest. Also, it turns out to actually be show accurate, as fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath has shown us, since there was an instance where this same tech detail appeared on the show. As you can see with the comparison to Hasbro's below (courtesy of Logan79), the colour layout on Strafe and Nosecone are very similar to Hasbro's. The bigger change is on Afterburner where Takara gives us a full on cartoon deco, with blue instead of green for the windshield/canopy with painted rims.

The toon and toy deco is shown below for comparisons. This computron is now available everywhere, at all our sponsors across the world and at your favourite online store. Will you be getting one for yourself? Or do you still preffer the Hasbro version? Let us know what you think!

I just hope they start to retro-actively sell hand/foot accessories for ALL the combiners like Menasor/Bruticus/etc. which are similar to the new ones they made for Computron. The default hand/foot accessories were a clever idea, but they're just.... not very good.

Sadly, Takara gets a points deduction for keeping with the regular Combiner Wars hands and feet while Hasbro gets the new extremities.

That said, I still think I have to go Takara on this one, the first time I've ever picked up a Takara release of a mainline Hasbro product. Deco aside (I don't usually find the Hasbro decos to be all that bad), I like the extra retoolings on the Takara better than the Hasbro.

And assuming that the Hasbro release will be $99.99 as with the other Combiner sets, $134.99 isn't all that bad for the Takara. Worth it.

If they don't, I imagine that the hand and feet are not too difficult to reverse-engineer a mold out of. I'm sure some third party will be selling them in matching colors for other combiners in no time once the Hasbro Computron launches.

And at that point, would it really be considered a 3rd Party product or simply a custom KO?
